MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team knocked off rival Spring Hill College 71-58 Saturday evening to close out the 2010 regular season.
Mobile (17-11, 9-9) assures itself of either the 5th or 6th seed and a first-round bye for the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament. The Lady Rams will play their opening game in the tournament Wednesday, March 3rd with time and opponent to be determined.
Alyssa Lane tallied 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting to lead Mobile, while Morgan Crawford added 11 points. Alice Honnery hauled in 12 rebounds for Mobile. Robynetta Hargrave led Spring Hill with 13 points, but did it on 6-of-19 shooting from the floor.
The Lady Rams forced 20 Spring Hill Turnovers and out shot the Lady Badgers 37% to 26% from the field.
Mobile went 10-of-10 from the free throw line over the final 1:20 to help clinch the victory.
