NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile women's tennis team fell to NCAA I University of New Orleans 2-5 Saturday afternoon.
The doubles tandem of Cynthia Summersgill and Nancy Machen picked upa default win at No. 3 doubles, while Kari Williams picked up a default win at the No. 5 singles spot.
The other spots where Mobile came closest to picking up victories were No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles. UNO's Kozue Matsumoto and Amber Garza bested Mobile's No. 1 doubles tandem of Rachel Hartley and Claudia Borges by an 8-4 margin. At No. 2 singles, Hartley battled, but fell 6-7 (5-7), 7-10.
Mobile (3-3, 1-1) returns to action Mar. 26 when they host Belhaven University at 10 am and Tougaloo College at 2 pm.
