Alice Honnery Named NAIA All-American

JACKSON, Tenn-- The Univeristy of Mobile's Alice Honnery was named Honorable Mention 2011 NAIA Women's Basketball All-American as announced by the All-America Committee Wednesday.

The selections are composed of a First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention squad.

The junior from New South Wales, Australia has re-written the record books at Mobile with her post play. In just two seasons with the Lady Rams, she has racked up 252 blocks to place 1st on the career list at Mobile. She also owns the school's single-game block record with 12 and single-season record with 135.

In 2011, Honnery averaged a double-double of 11.7 points and 10.6 rebounds, while also averaging 4.2 blocks and 2.5 assists a game. She was 2nd in the NAIA in blocks and blocks per game and 3rd in defensive rebounds per game (8.179). She also shot 53% from the field.

Her single-season highs were 26 points, 8 blocks, 17 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals.

She posted 13 double-doubles on the season, and the Lady Rams finished the year at 17-11.
