Rice Finishes 1st; Lady Rams 4th At Berry Invite

ROME, Ga-- The University of Mobile women's golf team finished the Berry College Women's Invite in 4th place and Maegan Rice finished 1st among all golfers.

The Lady Rams carded an 87-over 663 (333, 330), while Shorter College won the tournament with a 58-over 634 (318, 316).

Rice fired a 3-over 147 (73, 74) in the two-round event, finishing with the best score in each round. Berry's Jayne Curtis finished 2nd with an 8-over 152 (76, 76).
 
Abbie Harris tied for 23rd with a 26-over 170 (83, 87), Taylor Kirby carded a 28-over 172 (88, 84), Taylor Lee shot a 30-over 174 (89, 85) and Mandy Eads shot a 46-over 190 (98, 92) for Mobile.
 
Mobile returns to action April 9-11 at the Embry-Riddle Bash at the Beach in Dayton Beach, FL.
Rice has finished 2, 1 and 1 in three spring events this season.
 
Round 1: Lady Rams Sit In 4th After Opening Round
 
ROME, Ga-- The University of Mobile women's golf team sits in 4th place after round 1 of the Berry College Women's Invite Monday.
 
The Lady Rams fired a 45-over 333 to sit 15 strokes behind leader Shorter College. University of Cumberlands is in 2nd place with a 320.
 
Senior Maegan Rice leads the field with a 1-over 73, two strokes ahead of a pair of players tied for 2nd place with 75's.
 
Abbie Harris is tied for 17th with an 11-over 83, Taylor Kirby carded a 16-over 88, Taylor Lee finished round 1 with a 17-over 89 and Mandy Eads shot an 89 for Mobile.
