Mobile Men 2nd In NAIA Preseason Top 25 Poll

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's soccer team is ranked 2nd in the NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll, released Tuesday.
Mobile finished 2010 17-4-2 and advanced to the semifinals. Hastings earned the No. 1 spot with 20 first-place votes, edging Mobile by 31 points.
The Rams will open the season Sept. 2nd at 1 pm against Embry-Riddle at Auburn-Montgomery's tournament.
If Mobile is to win the Southern States Athletic Conference for the second-straight year, they will have to go through three other Top-25 teams. Southern Poly is 7th, Belhaven 9th and William Carey 22nd. AUM is receiving votes.
Of Mobile's non-conference opponents, Embry-Riddle is receiving votes, UT-Brownsville is 19th and SCAD is 18th.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conference / independents / unaffiliated groups. The first regular-season Coaches’ Top 25 Poll will be announced on Sept. 6.
