No. 13 Lady Rams Earn Double-OT Draw To Start Season

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- The 13th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team opened the 2011 season by tying University of Texas-Brownsville 0-0 in double-overtime.
Mobile (0-0-0) will face Northwood University Sept. 3 at 2 pm in Hattiesburg, Miss.
Lorna Brownlie logged all 110 minutes in goal for Mobile, grabbing three saves in the shutout effort. Amanda Fulton and Jessica Hamer split the minutes in goal for the Scorpions, combining for six saves.
UTB out shot Mobile 15-13, but put only three on target, while the Lady Rams put six on frame.
Scoring chances were few and far between, but each team had some chances to notch a victory.
Jesslyn Fagundes got a feed inside the box late in the first half, but sailed the shot just over the crossbar. The Scorpions' Samantha Garcia then rocketed a shot in the 86th minute that clanked off the crossbar to keep the game scoreless.
The last chance came in the 98th minute when Mobile's Christy Lachappelle weaved through the defense and ripped a shot on frame, that the keeper punched away.
