Warriors Hand Rams First Loss Of Season

CENTRAL, S.C.-- The 2nd-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team dropped its first game of the season Friday, falling 1-2 at conference opponent Southern Wesleyan.

Mobile (7-1, 3-1) will face Truett McConnell Saturday at 3 pm. The game featured six cards.

The Rams put 10 of 16 shots on target, but Warriors' goalkeeper John Prochack gathered in nine saves to pick up the victory.

Xavier Audergon and Kyle Buxton each made two saves in goal for Mobile. Southern Wesleyan finished with nine shots overall and six shots on frame.

All of the excitement happened in the first 29 minutes of action, with three goals and and three cards.

Deshorn Brown put Mobile on the board just 3:22 into play on an unassisted tally, but Southern Wesleyan's Matt Seibert answered that goal just three minutes later to tie the game at 1-1.

Then, in the 29th minute, Daniel Pena punched home the eventual game-winner for the Warriors on an unassisted play.

Mobile put six shots on target in the final period, but only two in the final 18 minutes.
