3rd-Ranked Lady Rams Host SSAC Tourney Game Saturday

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's soccer team will host Shorter University Saturday, Nov. 5 at 5 pm in a SSAC Tournament Opening Round Contest.

The Lady Rams also climbed to No. 3 in the latest edition of the 2011 NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll with 532 points and a 15-2-1 record.

Lindsey Wilson tops the polls with 590 points, while fellow SSAC team Lee is 2nd with 573 points. Lee is the top seed in the East, while Mobile is the top seed in the West.

For Mobile, Christy Lachappelle ranks 15th in the NAIA with 17 goals and 19th with 10 assists, while Jesslyn Fagundes and Kassie Ruff also rank in the Top-20 in assists.

Mobile has won 10-straight games, allowing only four goals in that stretch, after allowing 12 in the first eight games of the season.

Shorter came to Mobile on Sept. 23, and the Lady Rams rolled to a 6-1 victory in the contest. Fagundes and Ruff each scored a pair of goals, while Brianna Simmons finished with one goal and two assists. Mobile out shot the Hawks 21-12.

Shorter comes in with a 7-11 overall record on the season, but has turned things around a bit with a 4-3 mark in the last seven games. They have allowed multiple goals in 14 of 18 games on the year.
