No. 18 Mobile Women Move To Top Of West Division Standings

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The 18th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team held off Auburn University-Montgomery 3-2 in SSAC West Division road action Tuesday afternoon. Mobile is 9-5-1 overall and currently sits atop the SSAC West Division standings with a 3-1 conference mark. William Carey sits in 2nd with a 2-0-1 conference ledge. This is important, as the opening round of the SSAC Conference Championship is held at the site of the highest seed Nov. 6.

Mobile Women Win 2010 Fall Invitational

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's golf team won the 2010 University of Mobile Fall Invitational at Heron Lakes Golf Course, while Abbie Harris took home top individual honors. The Lady Rams won the tournament with a +90 666 (334, 332), finishing a comfortable nine strokes ahead of 2nd-place Thomas University, who shot a 99-over 675 (336, 339). Huntingdon College finished 3rd with a +132 708 (361, 347) and William Carey finished 4th at +191 767 (391, 376).

Lady Rams Lead After Opening Round Of UMobile Fall Invitational

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's golf team leads the pack after round one of the University of Mobile Fall Invitational at Heron Lakes Golf Course Monday. The Lady Rams' top four golfers carded a collective 46-over 334, two strokes ahead of Thomas University's +48 336. Huntingdon College sits in 3rd with a 73-over 361 and William Carey is in 4th with a +98 386.

Mobile Men Run At Southeast Classic 8K Meet

ROME, Ga-- The University of Mobile men's cross country team competed in the Southeast Cross Country Classic 8K run Saturday, hosted by Berry College. The Rams finished 27th as a team with a time of 2:50:44.63 and 779 points. Bryan College won the meet with a team time of 2:06:30.59 and 58 points. Zach Gaines paced Mobile by clocking in at 31:54.68.

Lady Rams Run At Southeast Classic

ROME, Ga-- The University of Mobile women's cross country team ran at the Southeast Cross Country Classic Saturday morning. Mobile had only four healthy runners and did not qualify as a team in the 5K race that featured 232 runners and 27 teams. Joanna Canning led the Lady Rams with a time of 23:17.25 to place 174th in the race.

Mobile Sweeps Belhaven In SSAC Volleyball Action

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team blanked Belhaven University 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-20) in SSAC West Division action Friday at Pharr Gym. Katie Dowd led Mobile with 12 kills and hit .409, Kelly Sherling added 11 kills and hit .556, Shea McBee put down 8 kills and hit .538, and Alyson Kovacs added 8 kills and hit .533 for Mobile. The Lady Rams hit an impressive .426 as a team, while holding Belhaven to a .204 attack percentage.

Rams Take West Florida To OT; Fall 2-3

PENSACOLA, Fla-- The 10th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team battled NCAA-II University of West Florida to overtime Thursday, but fell 2-3 to the Argos. Mobile (10-3-2, 2-0-1) will next play at conference foe Auburn University-Montgomery Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 3 pm. The Rams actually had to rally from two goals down to force overtime, and they did that, tallying a pair of second-half goals after UWF jumped ahead 2-0 in the opening half.

No. 25 West Florida Beats Mobile In Straight Sets

PENSACOLA, Fla-- NCAA II 25th-ranked University of West Florida defeated the University of Mobile 3-0 (25-15, 25-7, 25-14) in volleyball action Tuesday evening. The Lady Rams (12-12, 4-1) host conference foe Belhaven University Friday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 pm. Shea McBee, Kelly Sherling and Katie Dowd shared the Mobile lead with 4 kills apiece, while Melody Tenney had 13 assists and Katy McCollister led with 9 digs.

No. 10 Rams Blank Crusaders In Overtime

MOBILE, Ala-- The 10th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team defeated 13th-ranked William Carey University 1-0 in overtime action Tuesday. Mobile (10-2-2, 2-0-1) next plays at University of West Florida Thursday, Oct. 21 at 7 pm. The teams battled for over 90 minutes of scoreless ball before Onesimus Ikungo took a feed from Deshorn Brown and hammered the ball into the back of the net in the 94th minute to give Mobile the SSAC West Division victory.

Mobile Women Fall To #7 William Carey

MOBILE, Ala-- Seventh-ranked William Carey University handed the 18th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team its first SSAC West Division loss in women's soccer action Tuesday evening at the University of Mobile, beating the Lady Rams 1-0. Natalia Nino provided the game-winner for the Lady Crusaders in the 66th minute when Gemma Metcalfe passed her into the 18-yard box, and Nino went back post to beat the keeper.
