Volleyball Sweeps SUNO In Road Action

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile volleyball team traveled to former conference foe Southern University at New Orleans and picked up a 25-17, 25-16, 25-8 win in straight sets Tuesday evening. Mobile (3-2) visits Southern States Athletic Conference foe Faulkner University Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 7 pm. Senior Kelly Sherling led the Lady Rams with 9 kills, while newcomer Disah Kolassiba finished with 8 kills and 3 blocks from the middle.

UMobile Women Place 4th At ASU Fall Classic

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's golf team finished 4th at the Alabama State University Fall Golf Classic Tuesday. Mobile finished at +91 674 (329, 345), while Shorter University won the event with a 60-over 636 (324, 312). Faulkner University's Mandy Gregg rallied for top individual honors with a +7 151 (79, 72).

Mobile Men Finish First Tournament In 7th

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's golf team finished 7th at the Alabama State University Fall Golf Classic Tuesday. The Rams carded a +48 624 (315, 309) to finish 31 strokes behind champion Alabama State University. ASU finished at +17 593 (299, 294) to take home top honors. University of West Georgia's Bryn Powers won top individual honors with a 1-under 143 (70, 73).

Lady Rams Five Strokes Back After Day One

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's golf team sits in 3rd place after day one of the Alabama State University Fall Classic, while Ann Nahl leads the field with a 4-over 76. The Lady Rams carded a 41-over 329, only five strokes behind leader Shorter, who finished with a 36-over 324.

Shorter Outlasts Mobile In Five Sets

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team jumped ahead 2-0, but fell 2-3 (25-22, 25-23, 10-25, 23-25, 12-15) to Shorter University on the final day of the SSAC Cross-Over. Mobile moves to 2-2 on the season, while Shorter improves to 7-1. The Lady Rams visit Southern University at New Orleans Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 7 pm. Alyson Kovacs again led the way offensively for the Lady Rams with an impressive 18 kills and .342 attack percentage, while Kelly Sherling added 15 kills and Christa Hicks chipped in with a double-double of 12 kills and 11 digs.

UMobile Women's Cross Country Places 5th

METAIRIE, La-- The University of Mobile women's cross country team turned in a 5th place finish at the Loyola Wolfpack Invitational Saturday. The Lady Rams clocked in at 2:11:31.47 as a team, while Loyola University finished 1st at 1:48:45.77. Mobile finished 3rd among SSAC teams, and finished just seconds behind Millsaps College. Allie Wheeler lead Mobile for the second straight race with a 10th place finish and a time of 21:48.48.

Ram Runners Finish 4th At Loyola Invitational

METAIRIE, La-- The University of Mobile men's cross country team finished in 4th place at the Loyola Wolfpack Invitational Saturday morning. The Rams finished with a team time of 1:39:46.18, while Xavier University won the meet with a time of 1:31:07.24. Mobile finished 3rd among SSAC teams in the meet. Mark Meadows paced Mobile with a 15th place finish and a time of 18:52.11, while Ryne Pulliam finished 19th with a time of 19:01.57.

UMobile Volleyball Sweeps Pair In Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team swept a pair of matches on day one of the SSAC Cross-Over Tournament at Faulkner University Friday. The Lady Rams defeated Brenau 3-1 and then beat Columbia College in straight sets 25-19, 25-20, 25-21. Against Columbia, seniors Kelly Sherling and Alyson Kovacs led the way with 10 and 8 kills, respectively.

No. 16 UM Men Fall 0-2 To Northwood

MOBILE, Ala-- The 16th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer game headed into Friday's contest with visiting Northwood University having outscored opponents 6-1 in three contests on the season. That changed Friday, as the Northwood Seahawks blanked the Rams 2-0. Mobile (2-1-1) hosts the UM Classic Sept. 17-18. Mobile will face Southern Polytechnic State Friday and Embry-Riddle on Saturday.
