No. 5 Redhawks Top Mobile In OT

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's soccer team lead for 84 minutes against NAIA No. 5 Martin Methodist College Monday afternoon, but fell 2-1 in overtime to the Redhawks. Freshman Christy Lachappelle gave Mobile the lead just 11:30 into play when she beat the defense on a deep pass from sister Ashley Lachappelle and punched the ball past the goal keeper into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. Lachappelle is now tied with Missy Stovall for the team lead with 4 goals.

Rams Even Record With 1-0 Win

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The 9th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team picked up its first victory of the season Saturday, defeating Marian University 1-0 on the final day of the Capital City Classic at Auburn University-Montgomery. The Rams dominated the game, out-shooting the Knights of Marian 23-1, including a 15-0 edge in shots on goal. With that stellar defensive effort, the Rams needed only one of those 23 shots to find the back of the net, and that happened just 6 minutes into play.

UM Drops Opener 1-0

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The 9th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Martin Methodist College in their season opener Friday at Auburn-Montgomery's Capital City Classic. Martin Methodist's Tiago Reichert knocked home a pass from teammate Justin Hardin in the 72nd minute for the winning tally.

Lady Rams Win 2-0

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's soccer team defeated visiting Warner Pacific College 2-0 Friday to improve to 2-0-1 on the season. The Lady Rams out-shot the visitors 16-5. Mobile's defense was stout all game long, led by All-American goal keeper Anna Maddox, who picked up 3 saves for the shutout victory.

Lady Rams Open 2009 With Tie

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's soccer team battled visiting Brenau University to a 2-2 double-overtime tie Friday evening to open up the 2009 season. The Lady Rams controlled tempo much of the game, out-shooting Brenau 21-9, but held only a 7-6 edge in shots on target. Mobile also kept forcing the issue to get 16 corner kicks, but could not convert either of those into a tally on the scoreboard.

UM Adds Two-Time All-American

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's golf program announced the addition of two-time NJCAA All-American Tyson Lynn for the 2009-10 season. Lynn is transferring from Louisburg College, a two-year school in Louisburg, NC. He is a native of Mobile, AL and prepped at Riverview High School in Sarasota, Fla.

Rams Add three For 2009-10

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's golf team announced the addition of three players for the 2009-10 season. Joining a team with a good core of returning players will be Christopher Collier, Jake Dishman and Leland Dunning. The players are expected to push and add to the returning golfers as the Rams seek to return to the national tournament.
