No. 10 Rams Blank Crusaders In Overtime

MOBILE, Ala-- The 10th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team defeated 13th-ranked William Carey University 1-0 in overtime action Tuesday. Mobile (10-2-2, 2-0-1) next plays at University of West Florida Thursday, Oct. 21 at 7 pm. The teams battled for over 90 minutes of scoreless ball before Onesimus Ikungo took a feed from Deshorn Brown and hammered the ball into the back of the net in the 94th minute to give Mobile the SSAC West Division victory.

Mobile Women Fall To #7 William Carey

MOBILE, Ala-- Seventh-ranked William Carey University handed the 18th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team its first SSAC West Division loss in women's soccer action Tuesday evening at the University of Mobile, beating the Lady Rams 1-0. Natalia Nino provided the game-winner for the Lady Crusaders in the 66th minute when Gemma Metcalfe passed her into the 18-yard box, and Nino went back post to beat the keeper.

Pair Of UMobile Soccer Players Earn SSAC Honors

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile had a pair of athletes named OnePath Systems SSAC Players of the Week Monday by the Southern States Athletic Conference. Missy Stovall was named Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Jason Williams was tabbed Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Williams and the Rams capped the week by shutting out SSAC West Division foe Faulkner University 4-0. Williams made 4 saves in the game, including 3 in the opening half, while it was still scoreless.

Women's Cross Country Places 3rd In 5K Meet

CLINTON, Miss-- The University of Mobile women's cross country team finished 3rd among Non-Division I teams at the Choctaw Open Saturday. The 5K race saw the Lady Rams slot in between 2nd-place Belhaven and 4th-place Millsaps College. The Lady Rams turned in a time of 1:59:40.38 and 81 points. Belhaven edged out Mobile by only four points for the 2nd slot.

Mobile Men Finish 2nd At Choctaw Open

CLINTON, Miss-- The University of Mobile men's cross country team placed 2nd among Non-Division I teams at the Choctaw Open Saturday. The Rams finished ahead of SSAC schools William Carey and Belhaven in the 4-mile run with a time of 2:07:02.39 and 69 points. Mississippi College finished 1st with a time of 1:52:43/26 and 15 points.

UMobile Volleyball Falls To No. 11 Embry-Riddle

SAVANNAH, Ga-- The University of Mobile volleyball team closed out the SCAD Invitational by falling 0-3 (12-25, 22-25, 16-25) to 11th-ranked Embry-Riddle Saturday. Mobile (12-11) will visit NCAA II University of West Florida Tuesday at 7 pm. Kelly Sherling led Mobile with 14 kills, hitting .158. Melody Tenney led with 14 assists, while Kaylle McGrew added 11 assists and 10 digs. Katy McCollister led the team with 12 digs.

Lady Rams Move To 2-0 In SSAC Play

MOBILE, Ala-- The 19th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team improved to 2-0 in SSAC West Division action by blanking visiting Faulkner University 3-0 Saturday evening.  Mobile (8-4-1, 2-0) will host William Carey University Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 5 pm to close out the 2010 home schedule. The Lady Rams controlled every phase of the game, holding Faulkner to one shot on goal and two shots overall, while taking 20 shots as a team and putting eight of them on target.

MOBILE, Ala-- The 11th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team blasted visiting Faulkner University 4-0 in SSAC West Division action Saturday evening. The Rams (9-2-2, 1-0-1) host William Carey University Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 pm. Mobile kept the pressure on all game, taking 29 shots overall, including 10 on target. The Rams' defense, meanwhile, limited Faulkner to 6 shots and Jason Williams grabbed 4 saves in the shutout effort.

Mobile Takes Opening Set, But Falls To SCAD 1-3

SAVANNAH, Ga-- The University of Mobile volleyball fell to SCAD 1-3 (25-22, 19-25, 20-25, 18-25) on the final day of the SCAD Invitational Saturday. Kelly Sherling paced Mobile offensively with 20 kills and a .255 attack percentage, while Mobile hit only .065 as a team. Sherling added 10 digs and 3 blocks. Alyson Kovacs finished with 8 kills for Mobile, Katy McCollister led with 15 digs, and Kaylee McGrew finished with 17 assists and 11 digs for the Lady Rams.

Lady Rams Drop Pair To Nationally Ranked Teams

SAVANNAH, Ga-- The University of Mobile volleyball team dropped a pair of matches against nationally ranked teams on day one of the SCAD Invitational Friday. In the opener, Mobile fell to Bellevue 0-3 (19-25, 17-25, 18-25). In the final match of the day, the Lady Rams fell to 5th-ranked UT-Brownsville 0-3 (16-25, 22-25, 20-25). Mobile (12-9) will face host SCAD Saturday at 10 am and 11th-ranked Embry-Riddle at 2 pm.
