UMobile Women's Golf Inks Local Star

MOBILE, Ala—The University of Mobile women’s golf program announced the addition of Alma Bryant High School star Devin Pigford for the 2011-12 season. Pigford finished 3rd with an 80 at the 2011 girls Class 6A Section 1 golf tournament and led Alma Bryant to a 2nd place finish. Alma Bryant finished 4th at the 2011 AHSAA Golf Championship, with Pigford placing 9th individually with a 159 (85, 74).

Lady Ram Golfers Place 3rd At SSAC Championships

COLUMBUS, Ga-- The University of Mobile women's golf team finished 3rd at the 2011 Southern States Athletic Conference Championship Tuesday at the Columbus Country Club. No. 1 Shorter won the tournament with a 625, while 12th-ranked Lee finished 2nd with a 651. The Lady Rams came in with a two-round score of 686 (340, 346) to beat out Spring Hill by four strokes.

Trio Of Lady Ram Golfers Earn SSAC Honors

COLUMBUS, Ga-- Three University of Mobile women's golfers were honored by the release of the year-end awards as announced by the Southern States Athletic Conference Monday. Senior Taylor Kirby and freshman Ann Nahl were named to the 2011 SSAC All-Conference team, while Fairhope, Ala. native Taylor Lee was selected to the All-Academic Team, and was the team's Musco Lighting Champions of Character winner.

Lady Ram Golfers Win Rhodes Spring Invitational

GERMANTOWN, Tenn-- The University of Mobile women's golf team won the Rhodes Spring Invitational Tuesday at Windyke West's Par-72, 5802-yard course. After rain canceled Monday's opening round, the tournament became a one-round event, and Mobile fired a 34-over 322 in Tuesday's lone round to beat host Rhodes College by 11 strokes. Oglethorpe University finished 3rd at 61-over 349 and Maryville College placed 4th with an 88-over 376.

Women's Golf Beats Pair Of SSAC West Foes In Tourney

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's golf team won the UM-SHC-WCU Match at Azalea City G.C. Tuesday. The Lady Rams finished with a 53-over 629 in the two-round tournament to beat Spring Hill by 51 strokes after the Badgers finished with a 104-over 680. William Carey finished 3rd with a 746.

Taylor Kirby Finishes 1st; Lady Rams Place 2nd

GULF SHORES, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's golf team finished 2nd at the Martin Methodist College Redhawk Spring Invite Tuesday. The tournament was held at the Peninsula Golf Resort's Par-72 5800 yard course. Mobile carded a 120-over 696 (341, 355), while Spring Hill won with a +108 684 (336, 348).

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's golf team sits three strokes behind leader Lindenwood (A) after round one of the Spring Hill Badger Intercollegiate, held at Spring Hill College Golf Course Monday. The teams will finish up play Tuesday with the final round getting started at 8 am.

Lady Rams Open Spring Season With 4th-Place Finish

LAKE WALES, Fla-- The University of Mobile women's golf team finished in 4th place at the Start 2 Finish Webber Classic to open the 2011 spring season. The Lady Rams fired a collective +115 691 (341, 350) during the two-round event at the Par-72, 5,833 yard Lake Wales CC. Florida Southern won the tournament with a 67-over 643 (318, 325) and Centre College finished 2nd with an 80-over 656 (335, 321).

Mobile Women Win 2010 Fall Invitational

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's golf team won the 2010 University of Mobile Fall Invitational at Heron Lakes Golf Course, while Abbie Harris took home top individual honors. The Lady Rams won the tournament with a +90 666 (334, 332), finishing a comfortable nine strokes ahead of 2nd-place Thomas University, who shot a 99-over 675 (336, 339). Huntingdon College finished 3rd with a +132 708 (361, 347) and William Carey finished 4th at +191 767 (391, 376).
