COLUMBUS, Ga-- The University of Mobile women's golf team ended the 2009-10 season with a 5th-place finish at the NAIA Unaffiliated Qualifier at Bull Creek Golf Club Tuesday. Senior Maegan Rice carded a 7-over 151 (78, 73) to win the event and qualify for the 2010 NAIA Women's Golf National Championships for the 4th-straight year.

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference released the GCAC Players of the Week awards for the week ending April 11, and the University of Mobile had three athletes honored. Leslie Pickette was named GCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week, Jessica Palmer was named GCAC Softball Player of the Week and Maegan Rice was named GCAC Women's Golfer of the Week.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla-- The University of Mobile women's golf team finished in 9th place at Embry-Riddle's Bash at the Beach Sunday. Mobile carded a 93-over 661 (345, 316) at the Par-71 Daytona Beach Golf Club. The Lady Rams trailed Spring Hill by seven strokes after round one, but bested the Lady Badgers by 12 strokes in the final round to swap positions in the final standings.

Maegan Rice has always been a good golfer, just not a great one. Until now, that is. Rice enjoyed a nice high school career at Central and signed a golf scholarship with the University of Mobile in 2006. During her first two years, Rice played well for the Rams, averaging in the high 70s. Like a light bulb being turned on in her head, Rice said something clicked between her sophomore and junior years. And now, with her college career winding down, Rice has a renewed vigor for a possible career in golf.

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference released the GCAC Player of the Week awards for the week ending March 14 Wednesday. Maegan Rice was named the GCAC Women's Golfer of the Week, while Jesus Urmeneta was tabbed the GCAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week.

ROME, Ga-- The University of Mobile women's golf team finished the Berry College Women's Invite in 4th place and Maegan Rice finished 1st among all golfers. The Lady Rams carded an 87-over 663 (333, 330), while Shorter College won the tournament with a 58-over 634 (318, 316).

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's golf team won the 2010 Spring Hill Badger Invite Tuesday at the Spring Hill Golf Club. The Lady Rams finished 127-over 703 (348, 355), 29 strokes ahead of the Lady Badgers (+156, 371, 361). Lindenwood finished 3rd at 173-over 749 and Faulkner finished 4th at 243-over 819.

CALERA, Ala-- Maegan Rice finished in a tie for 1st and the University of Mobile women's golf team finished in 4th place at the Ann Rhoads Shootout at Timberline Golf Course Monday. The Lady Rams finished at 113-over 681 (339, 342), while University of West Florida won the event with an 87-over 655 (328, 327).

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's golf team finished in 4th place at the UM Fall Classic.
Northwood University (Fla.) won the tournament with a 66-over 642 (318, 324) while the Lady Rams finished 46 strokes back with a 668 (330, 338).
