No. 17 UMobile Women Open SSAC Play With 3-0 Victory

JACKSON, Miss-- The 17th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team blanked Belhaven University 3-0 to open SSAC West Division play Tuesday evening. The Rams used a dominant first half to set the tone, out shooting the Lady Blazers 17-0 and finishing with a 9-0 edge in shots on target, while tallying a pair of goals in the opening 45 minutes. Missy Stovall opened the scoring for Mobile with a goal in the 14th minute, and seven minutes later, Anna Maddox fed Rebekah Counce for a goal to take a 2-0 lead.

No. 17 Lady Rams Blast Reinhardt 5-0

MOBILE, Ala-- The 17th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team turned in an impressive effort Saturday afternoon, blanking Reinhardt University 5-0 in non-conference action. The Lady Rams turned up the pressure with 25 shots, including 11 shots on target, and the Mobile defense outmatched Reinhard all day, allowing only 3 shots to the visitors.

Southern States Showcase Set to Air October 20

Norcross, Ga. - The Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC), which grew to sixteen member institutions on July 1, will add a new dimension in 2010, as the SSAC unveils its feature-based television show debuting on Wednesday, October 20 on SportSouth at 6 p.m. The “Southern States Showcase” will feature 18 thirty-minute weekly episodes on SportSouth (Fox regional sports network) reaching more than 10 million households. The show will air three times weekly across six southeastern states (Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee) beginning the week of October 18.

No. 17 Mobile Falls At West Florida

PENSACOLA, Fla-- The 17th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team traveled to NCAA II power University of West Florida and lost 2-5 Tuesday evening. Mobile (5-4-1) hosts Reinhardt College Saturday, Oct. 9 at 1 pm. West Florida out shot Mobile 17-10 and jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening half. Tori Fish scored in the 10th minute, followed by Jodi-Ann Robinson in the 29th minute.

No. 23 Mobile Women Control Bethel 1-0

ORANGE BEACH, Ala-- The 23rd-ranked University Mobile women's soccer team dominated possession against Bethel University Saturday and walked away with a 1-0 victory in a physical game. Mobile (4-3-1) returns to action at home Friday, October 1 at 5 pm against Shorter University. In a game featuring 22 fouls and six cards, Mobile out shot Bethel 33-0 and finished with a 10-0 edge in shots on target, but Bethel goalkeeper Jessica Coates hauled in nine saves in the losing effort.

Lachappelle's Hat Trick Leads Women To 5-1 Win

ORANGE BEACH, Ala-- The 23rd-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team blasted the Northwood University Lady Knights 5-1 in non-conference NAIA action Friday afternoon at the Orange Beach Sportsplex. Mobile dominated from the first whistle and got a hat trick from sophomore Christy Lachappelle, while out shooting the Lady Knights 19-2 and finishing with a 10-2 edge in shots on target.

No. 17 Lady Rams Fall In Double-Overtime

MOBILE, Ala-- Playing in their fourth double-overtime game of the season, the 17th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer team fell 2-1 to visiting Northwood University (Fla.) in non-conference NAIA soccer action Friday afternoon. Mobile (2-3-1) next plays Northwood (TX) Friday, Sept. 24 at 4 pm in Orange Beach. Northwood finished the game with only a 21-15 edge in shots, but they had an 8-1 edge in the two overtime periods, including a 6-0 edge in the final period.

Lady Rams Ranked No. 17 In NAIA Top 25

KANSAS CITY, Mo-- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released the first regular season edition of the 2010 NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25, and the University of Mobile women climbed from receiving votes to No. 17. The Lady Rams are 2-2-1 on the season and earned 298 points, one shy of 16th-ranked Simon Fraser University and 13 more than 18th-place Oklahoma City University. Mobile has faced a potent schedule early, with the two victories being a double-overtime win over Spring Hill to start the season and a 5-0 win over Brenau.

Lady Rams Fall To #24 ERAU In Double Overtime

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's soccer team fell 2-1 to 24th-ranked Embry-Riddle in double overtime on the final day of the Capital City Classic Saturday. The Lady Rams out shot Embry-Riddle 17-6 for the game and finished with a 7-4 edge in shots on goal, but ERAU keeper Dina Roper collected six saves to pick up the win. Mobile's Lorna Brownlie collected two saves in goal.
