SSAC To Broadcast Monday's Softball DH

MOBILE, Ala-- Monday's SSAC West softball doubleheader between the 10th-ranked University of Mobile and Faulkner University will be the featured broadcast by the Southern States Athletic Conference. The SSAC will broadcast the two games for free at www.ssacsports.com. Fans will be able to watch and listen to the action live. The Lady Rams of Mobile enter with a 28-8 overall record and an 8-2 conference mark, while Faulkner is 20-13 overall and 6-6 in conference play. The Lady Eagles have won four straight and are receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top-25.

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- The University of Mobile softball team swept a pair from Blue Mountain College Thursday, winning the opener 10-2 and taking the finale 9-1 in 5 innings. Game one saw the 11th-ranked Lady Rams score early and late to roll to a 10-2 victory over Blue Mountain, as Victoria Buie picked up the victory by allowing 0 earned runs on 3 hits in 7 innings of work.

No. 10 Mobile Earns Split With No. 2 Lady Saders

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- The 10th-ranked University of Mobile softball team earned a split with 2nd-ranked William Carey Wednesday by holding on for a 4-3 victory in the final game after dropping the opener 8-0 in 5 innings. Mobile (26-8, 8-2) will battle Blue Mountain College in a non-conference doubleheader Thursday at 4 pm in Hattiesburg, Miss. Victoria Buie turned in a gutsy performance in the circle to get the win in the finale by scattering 9 hits over 7 innings of 3-run ball. She struck out 6 and walked 5. Alyssa Boutwell took the loss for William Carey after giving up 3 earned runs on 6 hits in 7 innings of work.

Lady Rams Sweep Rival Badgers

MOBILE, Ala-- The 11th-ranked University of Mobile softball team swept rival Spring Hill College by scores of 3-0 and 7-1 in a SSAC West doubleheader Sunday. Mobile (25-7, 7-1) next plays at 2nd-ranked William Carey Wednesday, April 6 at 4 pm. In the opener, Mobile capitalized on some Spring Hill miscues and got a dominant performance from Victoria Buie to take down the Badgers 3-0.

UMobile Softball DH Postponed Due To Rain

MOBILE, Ala-- With heavy rains expected in the Mobile area Wednesday, the 15th-ranked University of Mobile softball team will have to wait two more weeks to battle #22 Auburn University-Montgomery. The Lady Rams have postponed Wednesday's scheduled SSAC West twin bill to April 13 at 4 pm. Mobile (23-7, 5-1) will next play April 3 at Spring Hill College in a 4 pm conference doubleheader.

#15 Lady Rams Split With #9 Belhaven In Softball Action

JACKSON, Miss-- The 15th-ranked University of Mobile softball team battled 9th-ranked Belhaven to a split in Saturday's SSAC West twin bill. Mobile won the opener 11-3 in a 5-inning run-rule game, while Belhaven took the finale 8-4. Mobile (23-7, 5-1) hosts Auburn University-Montgomery for a conference doubleheader Wednesday, Mar. 30 at 4 pm. Game one saw the 15th-ranked Lady Rams swat three homers.

Softball Rallies For 2 SSAC West Wins

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile softball team swept a SSAC West doubleheader from Faulkner University Monday, winning the opener 8-4 in the 10th and taking the finale 8-7. Victoria Buie picked up the win in the opener with 3 innings of no-hit, shutout relief, while Faulkner's Katy Wiggins took the loss after surrendering 5 runs on 10 hits in 4.2 innings of relief. Haley Baker also worked in relief for Mobile and threw 5 innings of 1-hit, shutout ball.

Lady Rams Sweep #23 AUM In SSAC West Play

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The 25th-ranked University of Mobile softball team swept No. 23 Auburn University-Montgomery by scores of 9-0 (6) and 5-2 to open up SSAC West play Sunday. In the 9-0 victory, Kamaron Strickland picked up the win by limiting the Lady Senators to 5 hits and striking out 3 in 6 shutout innings. Milagros Lozada led the way at the plate with a 3-4, 2 RBI, 2 run effort, while Erica Bracey finished 3-4 with 1 RBI and 1 run. Mayles Rodriguez finished 2-4 with 1 RBI and 1 run and Jessica Swanson finished 2-4 at the dish.

Softball Wins Pair At WCU Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- The University of Mobile softball team picked up a pair of victories at the William Carey Invitational Friday, beating William Woods 2-0 and taking down LSU-Alexandria 5-1 in 6 innings. In the opener, Victoria Buie (11-3) dominated William Woods by striking out 11 hitters in a complete-game, 3-hit shutout effort. She walked none. MacKenzie Bowden took the loss after giving up 2 runs on 4 hits in 7 innings, while walking 2 and fanning 5.

2-1 Loss Knocks Lady Rams Out Of GCI

GULF SHORES, Ala-- The University of Mobile softball team fell 1-2 to McKendree University to fall out of the Silver Bracket Sunday on the final day of the Gulf Coast Invitational at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex. Mobile (16-6) will face William Woods at 6 pm and LSU-Alexandria at 8 pm Friday, Mar. 18 at William Carey. Victoria Buie was the tough-luck loser for Mobile after allowing 2 earned runs on only 3 hits in 6 innings of work. All three hits came from the top three in the McKendree lineup, while the 4-9 spots went a combined 0-14.
