GULF SHORES, Ala-- The 25th-ranked University of Mobile softball team dropped a pair of games in pool play action at the Gulf Coast Invitational Saturday, falling to Lindsey Wilson 5-0 and dropping a 3-1 decision to Central Methodist University. Mobile (16-5) will participate in bracket play Sunday with time and opponent to be determined. All games are being played at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex.

GULF SHORES, Ala-- The 25th-ranked University of Mobile softball team opened up pool play action at the 2011 Gulf Coast Invitational with a convincing 9-0 win over Cumberland Friday at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex and then capped the day with a 2-1 win over Oklahoma Baptist. Kamaron Strickland cruised through a complete game effort, fanning three and allowing only 4 hits in the shutout, while Mobile roughed up Cumberland starter Allison Blackwood for 5 runs on 7 hits in 3 innings.

GULF SHORES, Ala-- The University of Mobile softball program will host the Gulf Coast Invitational Mar. 11-13 at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex. The tournament will feature 28 teams from around the NAIA. Ranked teams in the field are #3 William Carey, #7 Lee, #9 Trevecca Nazarene, #10 Shorter, #18 Brenau, #19 Houston-Victoria, #20 Columbia College, #23 Auburn-Montgomery and #25 University of Mobile. Then, you look into the top 12 teams receiving votes and see participants Martin Methodist, Lindsey Wilson, Southern Nazarene and McKendree University.

MOBILE, Ala-- The 25th-ranked University of Mobile softball team defeated 7th-ranked Lee University 4-3 in a 10-inning affair Tuesday. The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was canceled due to lightning. Victoria Buie went the distance to pick up the victory, striking out 15 Lady Flame batters and allowing 0 earned runs on 8 hits in 10 innings of work. Offensively, Mayles Rodriguez finished 3-4 with 3 RBI and a homerun.

MOBILE, Ala-- The 25th-ranked University of Mobile softball team used a near-perfect pitching performance from Victoria Buie to take down Reinhardt University 2-0 on the final day of the University of Mobile Classic Sunday. Buie (8-1) allowed only 1 baserunner in a complete game effort, which saw her fan 8 and walk none. The only blemish on her line came in the form of a seeing-eye single from Lindsey Booker to lead off the 7th. The ball skipped under Buie's glove and just out of the reach of a diving Jessica Rogers at second.

MOBILE, Ala-- Rain in Mobile Saturday has forced a change in the schedule for the final day of the University of Mobile Classic on Sunday. Five games will be played at the University of Mobile, with the Lady Rams remaining in their original 2 pm time slot against Reinhardt.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile softball team made quick work of visiting Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a 9-0, 5 inning, run-rule victory on Friday at the University of Mobile Classic. Kamaron Strickland scattered 6 hits over 4 innings to pick up the win, while walking none and fanning 1. Holli McLeod, Kirstyn Joiner, Erica Bracey and Ally Scott each finished 2-3 with 1 RBI, while Jessica Swanson added 2 hits. Hannah Beth Baker and Jessica Palmer each finished 1-1 with 1 run and 1 RBI.
