Lady Rams Roll To Pair Of Straight-Set Wins

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team swept a pair of matches Saturday, beating Tougaloo College 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-13) and downing SUNO 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-20). Mobile (4-0) will next play Friday at the Milligan College Tournament. In the opening match, the Lady Rams out hit Tougaloo .233 to .039 and finished with a 14-5 edge in service aces.

Lady Rams Win Pair To Open Season

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team opened up the 2012 season by beating Southeastern 3-1 (25-27, 25-19, 25-23, 25-20) and Milligan 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-23). The Lady Rams (2-0) will host Tougaloo Saturday at 2:30 pm and Southern University at New Orleans Saturday at 6 pm. Against Southeastern, the Lady Rams held the Fire to a .079 attack percentage and finished with a 9-3 edge in service aces.

Volleyball Named NAIA Scholar Team

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team was rewarded for off-the-court excellence once again with the release of the NAIA Scholar Teams. For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade-point average includes all varsity student-athletes certified as eligible.

Lady Rams Earn Academic Honor

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team was one of only 33 NAIA volleyball programs to earn the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 season. The American Volleyball Coaches Association honored 533 teams overall. The award, which was initiated in 1992-93, honors both high school and collegiate volleyball teams that maintain a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average on a 4.0 scale. The Lady Rams produced a 3.43 GPA during the 2011-12 season.

2012 UMobile Volleyball Recruiting Class Announced

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile Volleyball Team is excited to announce the incoming 2012 Varsity class.  The newcomers include two setters, four versatile hitters, and three defensive players. Alex Beaver, a 5’9 setter from Friendswood, Texas, is experienced in the fast offense the Campbell’s love to run.  She has a keen ability to connect with hitters with impressive timing and location of the ball.

UMobile Volleyball Announces 2012 JV Recruiting Class

MOBILE, Ala-- The 2012 Junior Varsity Volleyball Program is enthusiastic about the addition of six players for the upcoming season.  They will join the returning seven from the 2011 season to build the team to its highest level to date. Leah Lovelace was the first commitment to the 2012 team.  A versatile player from Florida, she has the ability to play six rotations, swinging from the left side in the front row.  Though she is only 5’8, she has a solid vertical, hard arm swing, and impressive jump serve.

2012 UMobile Volleyball Training Team

UMobile's Volleyball Season Comes To An End In Quarterfinals

BILOXI, Miss-- The University of Mobile volleyball team saw its season come to an end in the quarterfinals of the SSAC Tournament Friday in the form of a 1-3 (25-22, 15-25, 22-25, 17-25) loss to Shorter University. Mobile finishes the season with a 24-14 overall record and a 7-7 mark in SSAC play. Disah Kolassiba led the Lady Rams with 14 kills, while Alison Kenney added 10 kills and 11 digs. Kiara Gay finished with 9 kills, 3 blocks and 13 digs for the Lady Rams. Katy McCollister led the way defensively with 19 digs, while Melody Tenney led with 33 assists.
