HOUSTON, Texas-- The University of Mobile volleyball team earned a split at the UST Labor Day Tournament over the weekend. On Friday, Mobile fell to host University of St. Thomas 2-3 (25-21, 23-25, 25-19, 22-25, 11-15) and then defeated Huston-Tillotson 3-0 (25-8, 25-16, 25-23). Saturday saw Mobile defeat Friends University 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-14) and fall to Great Falls 0-3 (19-25, 16-25, 15-25).

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile volleyball team dropped its first match of the 2011 season Monday, falling 2-3 (18-25, 25-17, 29-31, 25-16, 13-15). Mobile (2-1) will head to the University of St. Thomas Tournament in Houston, Texas Sept. 2-3 and start it with a 3 pm contest against University of St. Thomas. Lisa Alms racked up 20 kills to lead Mobile, while Alison Kenney finished with a double-double of 16 kills and 15 digs. Katy McCollister led the team with 16 digs, while Alicia Pena added 11. Melody Tenney finished with 29 assists and 3 aces to lead the team.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team opened the 2011 season by defeating Southeastern University 3-1 (20-25, 25-18, 25-22, 26-24) and Talladega College 3-0 (26-24, 25-17, 25-22) at Pharr Gym. Mobile (2-0) will visit Xavier University of New Orleans Monday, Aug. 29 at 7 pm. Against Southeastern, Mobile hit .190 as a team and served up 9 aces. Sara Van Wert and Alison Kenney led the way with 12 kills apiece, while Lisa Alms added 11 kills. Melody Tenney and Reagin Boggs each finished with 25 assists.

The University of Mobile Volleyball Team will head into the 2011 season looking to return to the NAIA National Tournament after failing to qualify last year for the first time in four seasons. Mobile will rely on many newcomers as they compete in the Southern States Athletic Conference for the second year. “The SSAC is a tough conference, and we are excited to challenge ourselves with great competition,” Head Coach Jon Campbell said.

NORCROSS, Ga. - Lee University, which is ranked third in the 2011 Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll, has been picked by coaches in the Southern States Athletic Conference to win the league for the eighth consecutive year, the conference announced Wednesday. Lee was unanimously selected to win the SSAC East and earned 10 of the 11 overall first-place votes, while Spring Hill - last year's West Division winner - claimed three of the five first-place votes in the West and finished second in the overall voting.

The Training Team start is just around the corner! We will begin on Monday, March 14
th at 6pm, and times and dates are for all ages. As we’ve done in the past, our practices will be Mondays and Tuesdays, 6:00pm-7:30pm, for the 8 consecutive weeks. We will work around spring break, meaning we will either break for one week if everyone is on the same schedule or we will add an additional week to the training so that everyone can get in their 8 weeks.

CLEVELAND – The University of Mobile is ranked 15th in the final fall NAIA Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings. Mobile received 53 points for a ninth place finish in women's soccer and 83 points for a third place finish in men's soccer. Azusa Pacific (Calif.) extended its lead, earning 25 points following a ninth place finish in football, bringing their point total to 301 points.
