No. 25 West Florida Beats Mobile In Straight Sets

PENSACOLA, Fla-- NCAA II 25th-ranked University of West Florida defeated the University of Mobile 3-0 (25-15, 25-7, 25-14) in volleyball action Tuesday evening. The Lady Rams (12-12, 4-1) host conference foe Belhaven University Friday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 pm. Shea McBee, Kelly Sherling and Katie Dowd shared the Mobile lead with 4 kills apiece, while Melody Tenney had 13 assists and Katy McCollister led with 9 digs.

UMobile Volleyball Falls To No. 11 Embry-Riddle

SAVANNAH, Ga-- The University of Mobile volleyball team closed out the SCAD Invitational by falling 0-3 (12-25, 22-25, 16-25) to 11th-ranked Embry-Riddle Saturday. Mobile (12-11) will visit NCAA II University of West Florida Tuesday at 7 pm. Kelly Sherling led Mobile with 14 kills, hitting .158. Melody Tenney led with 14 assists, while Kaylle McGrew added 11 assists and 10 digs. Katy McCollister led the team with 12 digs.

Mobile Takes Opening Set, But Falls To SCAD 1-3

SAVANNAH, Ga-- The University of Mobile volleyball fell to SCAD 1-3 (25-22, 19-25, 20-25, 18-25) on the final day of the SCAD Invitational Saturday. Kelly Sherling paced Mobile offensively with 20 kills and a .255 attack percentage, while Mobile hit only .065 as a team. Sherling added 10 digs and 3 blocks. Alyson Kovacs finished with 8 kills for Mobile, Katy McCollister led with 15 digs, and Kaylee McGrew finished with 17 assists and 11 digs for the Lady Rams.

Lady Rams Drop Pair To Nationally Ranked Teams

SAVANNAH, Ga-- The University of Mobile volleyball team dropped a pair of matches against nationally ranked teams on day one of the SCAD Invitational Friday. In the opener, Mobile fell to Bellevue 0-3 (19-25, 17-25, 18-25). In the final match of the day, the Lady Rams fell to 5th-ranked UT-Brownsville 0-3 (16-25, 22-25, 20-25). Mobile (12-9) will face host SCAD Saturday at 10 am and 11th-ranked Embry-Riddle at 2 pm.

UMobile Volleyball Blanks Faulkner In SSAC Play

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team blanked Faulkner University in impressive fashion Tuesday, winning 25-5, 25-12, 25-16 in SSAC West Division action. Mobile (12-7, 4-1) travels to Savannah, Ga., for the SCAD Invitational this weekend and will open with Bellevue Friday at 1 pm. The Lady Rams dominated in every face, serving up 20 aces and hitting .291 as a team, while allowing only 1 Faulkner ace and holding the Lady Eagles to  -.013 attack percentage.

Lady Ram Volleyballers Earn Split On Final Day Of Tourney

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team salvaged a split on the final day of the Faulkner University Invitational by defeating Florida Memorial 3-0 (25-4, 25-13, 25-10) after falling to Southeastern University 0-3 (18-25, 23-25, 23-25) earlier in the day. Mobile (11-7, 3-1) hosts SSAC foe Faulkner University Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 pm. Against Florida Memorial, Disah Kolassiba led with 9 kills and hit 1.000, while Katie Dowd and Shea McBee finished with 6 kills.

Lady Rams Fall To Southeastern University

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team dropped Saturday's opener at the Faulkner University Invitational 0-3 (18-25, 23-25, 23-25) to Southeastern University. Mobile (10-7) will face Florida Memorial today at 3 pm to finish out the tournament. Kelly Sherling led the Lady Rams with 15 kills and added 13 digs, while Shea McBee with .409 and finished with 11 kills. Katie Dowd hit .500 and added 8 kills to the Mobile attack, while Katy McCollister led with 17 digs.

Mobile Volleyball Earns Split At Faulkner Invite

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team earned a split on day one of the Faulkner University Invitational by beating Martin Methodist 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-15). Sherling posted a team-leading 15 kills versus Martin Methodist and hit .433, while Alyson Kovacs hit .462 with 7 kills. Shea McBee and Katie Dowd each added 7 kills for Mobile. Kaylee McGrew led with 19 assists, followed by Melody Tenney with 18, and Katy McCollister finished with 13 digs.

Lady Rams Drop Opener At Faulkner Invitational

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Asbury University, but fell 2-3 (25-20, 25-21, 26-28, 22-25, 9-15) on day one of the Faulkner University Invitational Friday. Mobile (9-6) will face Martin Methodist today at 5:30 pm and then battle a pair of teams tomorrow on the final day of the invite. Kelly Sherling led Mobile with 20 kills, while Alyson Kovacs added 10 and hit .368.

Southern States Showcase Set to Air October 20

Norcross, Ga. - The Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC), which grew to sixteen member institutions on July 1, will add a new dimension in 2010, as the SSAC unveils its feature-based television show debuting on Wednesday, October 20 on SportSouth at 6 p.m. The “Southern States Showcase” will feature 18 thirty-minute weekly episodes on SportSouth (Fox regional sports network) reaching more than 10 million households. The show will air three times weekly across six southeastern states (Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee) beginning the week of October 18.
