CLEVELAND, Tenn-- The 3rd-ranked Lee University Flames defeated the University of Mobile 12-0 in the series finale Saturday afternoon in Southern States Athletic Conference play. Mobile (5-5, 0-3) visits University of West Florida Wednesday at 5 pm.

CLEVELAND, Tenn-- The University of Mobile baseball team dropped a Southern States Athletic Conference doubleheader at 3rd-ranked Lee University Friday, losing 3-6 in the opener and 1-3 in the finale. Mobile (5-4) and Lee (9-2) finish the series with a single game Saturday.

TALLADEGA, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team split a doubleheader at Talladega College Saturday in non-conference action. Mobile won the opener 8-3, while the Tornadoes took the finale 2-0. Mobile (5-2) hosts Tougaloo Tuesday, Feb. 12 for a 12 pm doubleheader.

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile baseball team used an eight-run 7th inning in the finale to finish off a doubleheader sweep over Loyola University Tuesday in a pair of seven-inning non-conference games. Mobile won the opener 6-4, followed by a 10-5 victory in the finale. Mobile (4-1) visits Talladega for a three-game series this weekend, starting with a 1 pm game Friday.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team split Saturday's doubleheader with visiting Talladega, taking the opener 4-1 before falling 2-1 in the finale. The Rams take the series 2-1. Mobile (2-1) visits Loyola University Tuesday, Feb. 5 for a 3 pm doubleheader.

MOBILE, Ala-- A four-run 6th inning made Ryan Hines' 7-inning gem stand up, as the University of Mobile baseball team defeated Talladega College 8-2 to start the 2013 season. Hines (1-0) limited the Tornadoes to two runs on four hits in 7 innings of work, while fanning nine and walking only two. Jeff Price worked two innings of scoreless relief to finish out the game.

MOBILE, Ala-- Former University of Mobile and St. Paul's Episcopal product Kyle McPherson made his first Major League start tonight for the Pittsburgh Pirates against the Milwaukee Brewers, giving up two runs on seven hits, with one walk and two strikeouts in 4.1 innings of work. McPherson made his big league debut Aug. 20 with two innings of one-hit, shutout relief against the San Diego Padres, and has gone on to post a 1.54 ERA in 11.2 innings of relief this season for the Pirates prior to Wednesday's start.

SAN DIEGO, Calif-- Just hours after being called up by the Pittsburgh Pirates from Triple-A Indianapolis, former University of Mobile Ram and Mobile, Ala., native Kyle McPherson made his Major League Baseball debut against the San Diego Padres. McPherson entered the game in relief in the 6th inning, and went on to work 2 innings of one-hit shutout relief. He struck out two and walked none, throwing 19 of 26 pitches for strikes.

COLUMBUS, Ga-- The University of Mobile baseball team saw its season come to an end Friday, falling 4-9 to 16th-ranked Auburn University-Montgomery on day two of the SSAC Tournament. Mobile ends the season with a 25-25 overall record. The Warhawks jumped on Mobile with seven runs over the first three innings and never looked back. After the Rams went down in order in the top of the 1st, Adam Russell hit a two-out, three-run double in the bottom half of the inning.
