MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team will have its first home game of the 2010-11 season Saturday, Nov. 6 at 3 pm when they host Vorhees College. JACKSON, Miss-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team opened the 2010-11 campaign with a 54-73 loss at non-conference opponent Tougaloo College Monday evening. Mobile was held to 37% shooting from the floor and Donte Walker was the only Ram to get going, pouring in a game-high 22 points, while hitting 8-of-12 free throws. Matthew Turner added 8 points on 4-of-6 shooting. Tougaloo out shot Mobile 43% to 37% and held a 48-26 edge in rebounds, including a 20-6 edge in offensive boards.

Norcross, Ga. - The Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC), which grew to sixteen member institutions on July 1, will add a new dimension in 2010, as the SSAC unveils its feature-based television show debuting on Wednesday, October 20 on SportSouth at 6 p.m. The “Southern States Showcase” will feature 18 thirty-minute weekly episodes on SportSouth (Fox regional sports network) reaching more than 10 million households. The show will air three times weekly across six southeastern states (Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee) beginning the week of October 18.

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference announced the 2010 Thomas Howell Cup winner Tuesday and Belhaven University edged out the University of Mobile to win the coveted trophy for the first time in school history. The Thomas Howell Cup is awarded to the school with the highest number of points based on the order of finish in the various sports they participate in.

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference released the 2009-10 Men's Basketball All-Conference Team Friday. Mobile's Donte Walker and Ji Kimbrough were honored.
Kimbrough, a redshirt freshman from McGill-Toolen, was also tabbed the GCAC Freshman of the Year.

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- Free throws and fouls doomed the University of Mobile men's basketball team to a 99-92 four-overtime loss at William Carey University in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinals Thursday.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team closed out the 2010 regular season by falling 76-74 at Spring Hill College Saturday evening.
Mobile (17-10, 10-8) locks down the No. 5 seed for the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament that begins March 2nd. The Rams will travel to either William Carey or Belhaven Thursday at a time to be determined.

MOBILE, Ala-- McGill-Toolen product Ji Kimbrough set a career high with 39 points and the University of Mobile men's basketball team defeated Belhaven 85-79 in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action at Pharr Gym Thursday.

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team fell 45-65 at Xavier University-Louisiana Monday evening in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action.
Xavier out shot Mobile 58% to 36% from the field and finished with a 50% (4-8) to 8% (1-13) edge from 3-point range.
