Rams Best Badgers To Earn Conference Tourney Berth

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team defeated rival Spring Hill College 60-57 to close out the regular season and earn a spot in the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament. Mobile (15-13, 8-10) locks up the 5th seed in the West after Belhaven lost, and will face either Coastal Georgia or Truett-McConnell in the SSAC Tournament in Montgomery, Ala., Feb. 27 - Mar. 1.

UMobile Men & Women Visit SHC Saturday In Must-Win Games

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's and women's basketball teams will close out the regular season at Spring Hill Saturday with postseason berths on the line. Mobile's women (14-14, 8-9) will battle the Badgers (12-16, 7-10) at 5 pm to kick things off, with the winner getting a spot in the SSAC Tournament beginning Feb. 27.

Rams Fall By Three At Auburn-Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team fell 47-50 at Auburn-Montgomery Saturday in Southern States Athletic Conference action. Mobile (14-13, 7-10) visits Spring Hill Saturday, Feb. 23 at 7 pm to close out the regular season. Both teams shot 42% from the floor, but AUM shot 61% (11-18) from the free throw line, compared to 50% (7-14) for the Rams. Mobile also finished with 21 turnovers.

Rams Fall 53-67 To Visiting Blazers

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team fell 53-67 to visiting Belhaven University Thursday evening in Southern States Athletic Conference action. Mobile (14-12, 7-9) visits Auburn-Montgomery Saturday at 4 pm. Belhaven out shot Mobile 47% to 44% from the floor, 50% (7-14) to 17% (3-18) from 3-point range and 92% (12-13) to 50% (4-8) from the charity stripe.

Rams Fall By Nine To 19th-Ranked Crusaders

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team fell 58-67 to the 19th-ranked William Carey University Crusaders Saturday in Southern States Athletic Conference action. Mobile (14-11, 7-8) hosts Belhaven University Thursday at 7:30 pm. Brandon Morris led the Rams with 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting off the bench, while Cody Scott added 12 points and 8 rebounds off the bench.

Rams Dominate Overtime To Beat Loyola 65-55

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team outscored Loyola 11-1 in overtime to win 65-55 in Southern States Athletic Conference action Thursday evening. Mobile (14-10, 7-7) hosts William Carey University Saturday at 4 pm. Julien Sargent led the Rams with 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting to go along with 15 rebounds, while Kwame Beard poured in 17 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.

Joe Niland Gets Career Win No. 400 As Rams Beat Trinity

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team defeated Trinity Baptist College 55-50 Monday evening to give head coach Joe Niland his 400th career victory. This is Niland's 14th season at the University of Mobile, and 20th overall at the collegiate level. He boasts a 273-169 mark with the Rams and a 400-229 mark overall.

Rams Fall To 16th-Ranked Faulkner University

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team fell 55-69 to 16th-ranked Faulkner University in Southern States Athletic Conference action Saturday. Mobile (12-10, 6-7) hosts Trinity Baptist Monday at 7:30 pm in non-conference action. Brandon Morris was the lone Ram in double figures with 23 points and 7 boards off the bench, while Julien Sargent added 8 points for Mobile.
