MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile has announced game times for Saturday's men's and women's soccer SSAC Tournament games, and altered the times of Saturday's season-opening basketball games. Women's soccer will host Truett-McConnell at 1 pm, followed by the men hosting Lee University at 3 pm. Women's basketball will host Fisk University at 5 pm, followed by men's basketball battling Fisk at 7 pm.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team inked a pair of high school athletes from Florida. The Rams signed 6-5 power forward Cole Fountain of Pine Forest High School and 6-1 point guard TJ Simon of Holy Trinity Academy. Fountain was a three-sport athlete in Pensacola, Fla., who averaged 12 points and 9 boards per contest, while leading Pine Forest to a 25-6 record and back-to-back District Championships.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team has inked Baker High School standout Brandon Grant for 2012-13. "Brandon is an outstanding shooter that plays with a lot of energy," UMobile Head Coach Joe Niland said. "We feel that once he adjusts to the college game he can be a real asset to our program." The 6-3 wing was a three-year letter-winner at Baker, where he helped lead the school to a 78-20 record in that time.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team has announced the signing of a pair of transfer guards for 2012-13. Chris Richardson is transferring from NCAA Div-I UT Martin and Kwame Beard is coming to UMobile after playing the last two years at Alabama junior college perennial power Shelton State Community. Richardson, a 6-0 point guard who prepped at Minor High School, played in 61 games the last two seasons at UT Martin. He had game-highs of 8 points and 5 assists.

KANSAS CITY, Mo-- The University of Mobile's Antonio Hester was tabbed as a Third-Team All-American Wednesday, when the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced the 2011-12 Division I Men's Basketball All-America Teams. Hester, a junior forward from Miami, Fla., paced the Rams with 15.48 points per game, 8.58 rebounds and 1.48 blocks per contest. The 8.58 rebounds per game breaks Robert Jones' school record, which was set in 2007-08. He led the NAIA with a .668 field goal percentage, was 13th with 3.55 offensive boards per game and 18th with 266 total boards.

ROME, Ga-- The 2nd-ranked Shorter University Hawks bounced the University of Mobile from the quarterfinals of the 2012 SSAC Men's Basketball Tournament with an 85-64 decision Thursday. The Hawks used a dominant first half to get the win, outscoring Mobile 55-32 in the opening 20 minutes of action. Shorter out shot Mobile 63% to 36% in that period. They also drained 9-of-13 3-pointers.

MOBILE, Ala-- The Southern States Athletic Conference released the 2011-12 Men's Basketball All-Conference Team and awards Wednesday, and the Rams earned several awards. Antonio Hester was named SSAC Newcomer of the Year, and was joined on the All-Conference Team by Mobile, Ala., native Ji Kimbrough.

ROME, Ga-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team defeated Brewton-Parker 58-55 Wednesday to advance to Thursday's quarterfinals at the 2012 Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament. Mobile (14-16) will battle 2nd-ranked Shorter University Thursday at 6 pm in the quarterfinals. Antonio Hester finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds for Mobile, Brock Dockery added 14 points on 4-of-5 shooting from 3-point range and Matthew Turner added 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting off the bench. Marcus Polnett and Ji Kimbrough each dished out 5 assists.

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team fell 55-62 at Loyola University in Southern States Athletic Conference action Saturday. Mobile (13-16, 9-9) will be the 4th seed from the SSAC West and play Brewton-Parker (9-20, 6-12) at 1 pm Wednesday, Feb. 29 in Rome, Ga., to begin the SSAC Tournament. Ji Kimbrough led the Rams with 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting, while Christian Salinas and Marcus Polnett each added 10 points for Mobile. Corey Gray led Loyola with 19 points.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team fell 58-64 to Faulkner University Thursday in SSAC action at Pharr Gym. The Rams (13-15, 9-8) are 2nd in the SSAC West and will visit 1st place Loyola (18-9, 10-7) Saturday at 4 pm to close out the regular season. Christian Salinas hit 4-of-7 from 3-point range to score 12 points for the Rams, while Antonio Hester added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Ji Kimbrough finished with 11 points for Mobile.
