MOBILE, Ala-- The 10th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team defeated 13th-ranked William Carey University 1-0 in overtime action Tuesday. Mobile (10-2-2, 2-0-1) next plays at University of West Florida Thursday, Oct. 21 at 7 pm. The teams battled for over 90 minutes of scoreless ball before Onesimus Ikungo took a feed from Deshorn Brown and hammered the ball into the back of the net in the 94th minute to give Mobile the SSAC West Division victory.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile had a pair of athletes named OnePath Systems SSAC Players of the Week Monday by the Southern States Athletic Conference. Missy Stovall was named Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Jason Williams was tabbed Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Williams and the Rams capped the week by shutting out SSAC West Division foe Faulkner University 4-0. Williams made 4 saves in the game, including 3 in the opening half, while it was still scoreless.

MOBILE, Ala-- The 11th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team blasted visiting Faulkner University 4-0 in SSAC West Division action Saturday evening. The Rams (9-2-2, 1-0-1) host William Carey University Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 pm. Mobile kept the pressure on all game, taking 29 shots overall, including 10 on target. The Rams' defense, meanwhile, limited Faulkner to 6 shots and Jason Williams grabbed 4 saves in the shutout effort.

VICTORIA, Texas-- The 11th-ranked University of Mobile ousted University of Houston-Victoria 5-3 in non-conference men's soccer action Tuesday. Mobile jumped ahead 3-0 in the opening half while taking 10 shots, and then held on with two more goals in the second half, while UH-Victoria got its offense going. Deshorn Brown opened the scoring in the 10th minute for Mobile when he put home a feed from Stephen Okai, and then Brown made it 2-0 in the 34th minute, when UH-Victoria's goalkeeper mishandled the ball.

BROWNSVILLE, Texas-- The 11th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team fell 1-2 at University of Texas at Brownsville in NAIA soccer action Sunday evening. The loss snaps a six-game unbeaten streak for Mobile and is the team's first loss in a month. Mobile (7-2-2) will visit University of Houston-Victoria Tuesday, Oct. 12. Despite Mobile holding a 9-6 edge in shots in the opening half, it was UTB that scored a pair of goals to take a 2-0 lead at the break.

Norcross, Ga. - The Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC), which grew to sixteen member institutions on July 1, will add a new dimension in 2010, as the SSAC unveils its feature-based television show debuting on Wednesday, October 20 on SportSouth at 6 p.m. The “Southern States Showcase” will feature 18 thirty-minute weekly episodes on SportSouth (Fox regional sports network) reaching more than 10 million households. The show will air three times weekly across six southeastern states (Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee) beginning the week of October 18.

JACKSON, Miss-- The 11th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team battled 9th-ranked Belhaven University to a 1-1 double-overtime tie in Southern States Athletic Conference action Wednesday evening. Mobile moves to 7-1-2, 0-0-1 on the season, while Belhaven sits at 11-1-1, 0-0-1. The Rams visit University of Texas-Brownsville Sunday, Oct. 10 at 5 pm. The tie snaps a five-game winning streak for Mobile, but the Rams still have a six-game unbeaten streak going.

Mobile (7-1-1) visits Belhaven University Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 7 pm. The Rams kept the pressure on all game, finishing with a 22-6 edge in shots and 7-2 edge in shots on target. Jason Williams pitched a shutout with a pair of saves for Mobile.

ORANGE BEACH, Ala-- The 14th-ranked University of Mobile men's soccer team used a pair of second half goals to rally past 2008 NAIA National Champion Bethel University 2-1 Saturday evening in Orange Beach. Mobile (6-1-1) hosts Shorter University Friday, Oct. 1 at 7:30 pm. Bethel struck first on a goal from Armando Guell in the 6th minute, when Felix Obilo's long ball beat the Mobile defense, allowing Guell to get to it and punch it in, just ahead of the goalkeeper.
