Lady Rams Fall To #24 ERAU In Double Overtime

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's soccer team fell 2-1 to 24th-ranked Embry-Riddle in double overtime on the final day of the Capital City Classic Saturday. The Lady Rams out shot Embry-Riddle 17-6 for the game and finished with a 7-4 edge in shots on goal, but ERAU keeper Dina Roper collected six saves to pick up the win. Mobile's Lorna Brownlie collected two saves in goal.

Rams Battle #6 Redhawks To Tie

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's soccer team battled 6th-ranked Martin Methodist College to a 0-0 double-overtime tie Friday afternoon at the Capital City Classic. The Rams (1-0-1) will battle Milligan College Saturday at 12 pm on the final day of the Capital City Classic. Mobile kept the pressure on much of the game, outshooting the Redhawks 25-6 and finishing with a 7-0 edge in shots on goal, but Martin Methodist goalkeeper James Colman was up to the challenge with a seven-save shutout in 110 minutes of action.

Lady Rams Blast Brenau 5-0

MONTGOMERY, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's soccer team rolled past Brenau University 5-0 on day one of the Capital City Classic at Auburn University-Montgomery Friday. The Lady Rams out shot Brenau 21-4, including a 17-2 edge in the first half. In that opening frame, Mobile put 14 shots on target and scored three times. Mobile put the pressure on from the start, putting six shots on goal in the first six minutes, before Missy Stovall opened the scoring in the 11th minute off an assist from Anna Maddox.

Men's Cross Country Opens 2010 Season

CLINTON, Miss-- The University of Mobile men's cross country team finished 6th place at the Mississippi College Season Opener Tuesday evening to open the 2010 season at the Choctaw Trails Course. The Rams finished 1st among teams from the Southern States Athletic Conference. Mark Meadows paced the Rams with a 36th place finish at time of 19:27, while Ryne Pulliam was right behind at No. 38 with a time of 19:49. Emil Verde finished 40th at 19:50, Zach Gaines came in 43rd with a time of 20:03 and Chase Amerson finished 52nd with a time of 21:37.

Women's Cross Country Season-Opener

CLINTON, Miss-- The University of Mobile women's cross country team finished 9th at the Mississippi College Season Opener Wednesday night at the Choctaw Trails. The Lady Ram runners finished 2nd among Southern States Athletic Conference teams in the meet. Newcomer Allie Wheeler paced Mobile in the 4K course with a 16th place finish and a time of 17:46. Joanna Canning came in at 29th with a time of 18:55, Chynna Lee finished at 21:39, Kristen Jones finished at 23:13 and Tiffany Tindall finished with a time of 26:41.

Mobile Women Fall 2-0 At Top-Ranked Lee

CLEVELAND, Tenn-- The University of Mobile women's soccer team fell 0-2 at top-ranked and defending national champion Lee University in NAIA soccer action Saturday evening. The Lady Rams (1-1-1) next play in the Auburn University-Montgomery Tournament Sept. 3 versus Brenau University at 10 am. Mobile held strong in the opening half, holding the Lady Flames scoreless and allowing only 1-of-5 shots on target, but the Mobile offense could not sustain an attack of its own, finishing with one shot in the opening half and four for the game.

Rams Open 2010 Season With 3-1 Win

MOBILE, Ala-- A pair of first-half goals propelled the University of Mobile men's soccer team to a season-opening 3-1 win over 18th-ranked Bethel College Thursday evening at the University of Mobile. The Rams controlled the tempo in the opening 45 minutes, outshooting the visitors 7-1 and putting 3 shots on target. Newcomer Deshorn Brown got the scoring started in the 17th minute when he knocked home a rebound after Chris Dillon's header was stopped by Cody Troyer.

UM Women Battle #6 MMC To Double-Overtime Tie


PULASKI, Tenn-- The University of Mobile women's soccer team battled 6th-ranked Martin Methodist College to a 1-1 double-overtime tie in road action Thursday evening. Mobile moves to 1-0-1 on the year and will visit top-ranked Lee University Aug. 28 at 7 pm. Defense ruled the game, as the teams combined for only 11 shots, with Martin Methodist holding a 7-4 advantage in that area.

Simmons Lifts Lady Rams In Double-Overtime


MOBILE, Ala-- Brianna Simmons' goal in the 102nd minute gave the University of Mobile women's soccer team a 1-0 win over rival Spring Hill College in double-overtime to open the 2010 season at Spring Hill's Liberty Field. The Lady Rams (1-0) will travel to face Martin Methodist University in Pulaski, Tenn., August 26 at 4 pm. The game featured few scoring opportunities, with Mobile putting only 5 of 19 shots on target, and Spring Hill putting 4 of 8 shots on frame.

Women's Soccer Opener Moved To Spring Hill

MOBILE, Ala-- Due to heavy rains over the past week, the University of Mobile women's soccer team will open up the 2010 season at Spring Hill College Monday, Aug. 23 at 5 pm. The game was originally scheduled to be at UMobile at 7 pm, but the playing field was made unplayable by the recent wet weather. The Lady Rams and Badgers moved to the Southern States Athletic Conference this season, but this contest will be a non-conference matchup.
