UM Opens Home Schedule 4-0

MOBILE, Ala-- The 18th-ranked University of Mobile softball team swept 19th-ranked Notre Dame College by scores of 4-0 and 11-1 Thursday and then belted Dillard 14-0 and 13-0 in a pair of run-rule shortened five inning games Thursday. Mobile (9-5, 2-0) hosts Lindsey Wilson at 3 pm and Cumberland at 7 pm Friday.

Pickette And Weghorst Honored By GCAC

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference released the GCAC Players of the Week for the week ending Feb. 28, and the University of Mobile had a couple of athletes honored. Leslie Pickette was named Softball Pitcher of the Week, while Ricky Weghorst was named Men's Tennis Player of the Week.

Mobile Women Blast Spring Hill

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team knocked off rival Spring Hill College 71-58 Saturday evening to close out the 2010 regular season.

Mobile (17-11, 9-9) assures itself of either the 5th or 6th seed and a first-round bye for the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament. The Lady Rams will play their opening game in the tournament Wednesday, March 3rd with time and opponent to be determined.

Badgers Best Rams On Last-Second Shot

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team closed out the 2010 regular season by falling 76-74 at Spring Hill College Saturday evening.

 
Mobile (17-10, 10-8) locks down the No. 5 seed for the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament that begins March 2nd. The Rams will travel to either William Carey or Belhaven Thursday at a time to be determined.

No. 18 Pilots Take 2-of-3 From Mobile

MOBILE, Ala-- An 8-run 1st inning was too much to overcome for the University of Mobile baseball team Saturday, as the 18th-ranked LSU-Shreveport Pilots took the rubber match 13-7. Nine batters came to the plate, seven runs had scored and starting pitcher Jarrin Brister had been chased from the game before the Pilot bats finally made an out in the 1st.
