Baseball Splits Pair With Stillman

TUSCALOOSA, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team split a double header at NCAA II Stillman College Wednesday, dropping game one 5-6 and rebounding with a 10-4 win in the finale. Both games were 7 inning contests. In the opener, the Rams lost a pair of leads, including allowing a pair of Stillman runs in the bottom of the 7th to lose the game. John Ladnier was tagged with the loss after allowing one unearned run in .1 innings of work, while Cameron White got the start and allowed 5 earned runs on 7 hits in 6 innings.

Loyola Takes Series From Mobile

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team dropped the rubber match to Loyola 5-2 Sunday in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference play. Loyola takes the series 2-1. Mobile (1-4, 1-4) visits Stillman College for a noon doubleheader Wednesday, Feb. 10. Alex Wolf picked up the win for the Wolfpack with 7 innings of 2-run, 6-hit ball. He walked none and fanned none. Kevin Fontenot worked a perfect 9th for the save.

Mobile Upsets Xavier University

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's tennis team opened 2010 with a nice Gulf Coast Athletic Conference victory Friday, defeating defending GCAC champ Xavier University 5-4. Mobile (1-0, 1-0) hosts Tuskegee Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 2 pm. The Lady Rams set the tone for the match by bouncing back from an 8-0 defeat at No. 1 doubles to pick up a 2-1 win after doubles play. Rachel Hartley and Zelie Pfeiffer rallied from a 5-2 deficit at No. 2 doubles to pick up a 9-8 (7-4) victory and the Lady Rams got a win by default at No. 3 doubles.

Mobile Splits DH With Wolfpack

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile baseball team split a Gulf Coast Athletic Conference doubleheader at home with Loyola University Saturday. Mobile took the opener 8-1 in 7 innings and Loyola responded by taking the finale 1-0. Mobile (1-3, 1-3) and Loyola (2-3, 2-3) finish the series at 1 pm on Sunday. The game was originally scheduled for Friday, but was pushed back due to rain. In the opener, the Rams tallied 8 runs on 10 hits to win 8-1 in 7 innings.
