Lady Rams Fall At Home

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 58-63 to Tougaloo College in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action at Pharr Gym Thursday evening. Mobile (12-8, 4-6) visits Loyola University-New Orleans Saturday, Feb. 6 at 5 pm. Morgan Melancon led Mobile with 13 points, Davina Jefferson added 10 points and Alice Honnery finished with 7 points, 10 rebounds, 8 blocks and 5 assists. Erica Grayson tallied 12 points and grabbed 18 rebounds for Tougaloo, while Shalenia Wilcher added 12 points and 6 assists.

Rams Topple No. 18 Tougaloo College

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team used a dominating first half to take down NAIA No. 18 Tougaloo College 81-64 in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action at Pharr Gym Thursday evening. Ji Kimbrough led Mobile with 21 points and 9 assists, Donte Walker added 17 points and 7 rebounds, Robert Golston finished with 10 points and 8 rebounds, and Kevin Calloway added 10 points and 7 boards off the bench.

Honnery Leads Mobile To Victory

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team got a record-breaking performance from Alice Honnery and defeated rival Spring Hill College 63-55 in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action at Pharr Gym Saturday. Honnery broke the school record for blocks in a game with 12, breaking the old record of 11, set by Edmarie Lumbsley in 2001. The sophomore post player also added 14 points and 10 rebounds for a triple-double.

Mobile Men Blast Badgers

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team used a dominant opening half to blast the Spring Hill College Badgers 75-58 in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference play Saturday. The Rams built a 46-21 lead at half time by out shooting Spring Hill 50% to 33%, and holding the nation's leading 3-point shooter Marcus Coleman scoreless. The Badgers shot only 2-of-10 from downtown in the half and 5-of-16 from the charity stripe. Mobile hit 2-of-5 from 3-point range and 12-of-14 from the free throw line.

Rams Open Season At Belhaven

JACKSON, Miss-- The University of Mobile baseball team dropped a Gulf Coast Athletic Conference double header at Belhaven College to open the 2010 season Saturday. Belhaven took game one 6-3 and finished off the sweep with an 8-5 win in game two. Mobile (0-2, 0-2) will host conference foe Loyola University for a three-game series beginning Friday, Feb. 5 at 2 pm.

Lady Rams Fall To SUNO

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 60-67 at home to Southern University at New Orleans in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action Thursday evening at Pharr Gym. Adrienne Mackay was the only Lady Ram to tally double figures, scoring 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting. Davina Jefferson added 9 for Mobile and Alice Honnery finished with 8 rebounds and 4 blocks.

UM Wins Conference Game

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team used a big first half to take down Southern University at New Orleans 77-68 in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action at Pharr Gym Thursday evening. Mobile (10-7, 3-5) will host rival Spring Hill College Saturday, Jan. 30 at 7 pm. Donte Walker led the Rams with 17 points and 9 boards, Spencer Duke added 14 points, Treii Pace finished with 11, and Marcus Polnett and Ji Kimbrough added 10 points apiece for Mobile.

Mobile Falls At GCAC Foe William Carey

HATTIESBURG, Miss-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 55-63 at William Carey University in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference play Monday evening. The Lady Rams (11-6, 3-4) host Southern University at New Orleans Thursday at 5:30 pm. William Carey improves to 9-8 overall and 5-2 in GCAC action. Morgan Melancon led Mobile with 11 points, Adrienne Mackay added a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Davina Jefferson finished with 10 points.

Lady Pilots Top Lady Rams In Conference Play

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 44-57 to LSU-Shreveport in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action at Pharr Gym Saturday evening. The Lady Pilots of LSUS came in with the nation's top defense, holding opponents to 50.1 points per contest. They held the Lady Rams to 26% shooting from the floor and 3-of-16 from three-point range while forcing 19 turnovers and blocking 5 shots.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team fell 50-69 to Xavier University in Gulf Coast Athletic Conference action at Pharr Gym Thursday evening. Adrienne Mackay finished with 16 points to lead Mobile, while Davina Jefferson added 15 points and 4 steals for the Lady Rams. Alice Honnery finished with 7 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks. Brittany Powell led Xavier with 29 points on an impressive 12-of-15 shooting, while SiMon Franklin added 10 points for the Gold Nuggets.
