Life Tops Mobile In NAIA Men's Basketball Action

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team fell 63-77 to visiting Life University in NAIA non-conference action at Pharr Gym Saturday evening. Mobile (9-8) will visit Xavier University-Louisiana Monday, Jan. 24 at 7:30 pm in non-conference action before returning home to host rival Spring Hill College Thursday, Jan. 27 at 7:30 pm. Bentley Hylton led four Rams in double figures with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists, while Brock Dockery added 11 points. Donte Walker and Matthew Turner each chipped in 10 points to the Rams' cause.

Hot Shooting Sends Rams Past AUM

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball used a hot-shooting night from the floor to defeat conference foe Auburn University-Montgomery 84-71 at Pharr Gym Thursday evening in SSAC action. Mobile (9-7, 2-1) will host Life University Saturday at 7 pm. AUM falls to 5-11 overall and 2-1 in conference play. Donte Walker led the Rams with 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting, Matthew Turner added 15 points and 8 boards, and Spencer Duke, Brock Dockery and Ji Kimbrough each chipped in 10 points to the Mobile cause.

Three-Pointers Send Lady Rams Past Lady Senators

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team used the 3-ball to rally past visiting Auburn University-Montgomery 65-58 in SSAC action Thursday evening at Pharr Gym. Mobile (11-4, 2-1) will visit Xavier University-Louisiana Monday, Jan. 24 at 5:30 pm, while Auburn-Montgomery falls to 9-10 overall and 1-2 in conference play. Point guard Morgan Melancon led the way for the Lady Rams with a career-high 25 points thanks to 6-of-10 shooting from 3-point range, while Alyssa Lane tallied 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting from downtown. In the post, Adrienne Mackay added 9 points and 10 boards, while Alice Honnery finished with 6 blocks.

Late Rally Falls Short; Rams Fall At Home To Knights

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team saw a late rally fall short Monday, as the team fell to Southern University at New Orleans 50-54 in non-conference action at Pharr Gym. Mobile (8-7, 1-1) will host Auburn-Montgomery Thursday, Jan. 20 at 7:30 pm in SSAC action. This was only Mobile's second home loss this season. Donte Walker and Ji Kimbrough led Mobile with 19 points apiece, while nobody else on the team even cracked 5 points.

Blazers Top Rams In NAIA Men's Action

JACKSON, Miss-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team could not overcome a slow start Saturday evening, losing 66-76 at Belhaven University in SSAC West Division play. Mobile (8-6, 1-1) will host Southern University at New Orleans Monday, Jan. 17 at 7:30 pm in non-conference play. Ji Kimbrough led Mobile with 21 points on 10-of-18 shooting, while Donte Walker added 12 points and Kevin Calloway finished with 10 points and 7 rebounds.

Belhaven Snaps Mobile's Winning Streak

JACKSON, Miss-- Belhaven University used a strong 2nd half to take down the University of Mobile 88-73 in women's basketball action Saturday evening. Mobile (10-4, 1-1) hosts Auburn University-Montgomery Thursday, Jan. 20 at 5:30 pm. Belhaven improves to 12-5, 1-1. Mobile out shot Belhaven 52% to 37% from the floor in the opening half and took a 42-34 lead into the break, but the Lady Blazers shot an astounding 65% in the final half, while holding Mobile to 44% to outscore the Lady Rams 54-31 over the final 20 minutes.

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team defeated William Carey University 81-77 at Pharr Gym Thursday evening to open up SSAC West Division play. Mobile (8-5, 1-0) visits conference foe Belhaven University Saturday at 7 pm. The Rams improve to 7-1 at home this season. Ji Kimbrough led Mobile with 20 points, while Brock Dockery added 16 points and 9 boards, Donte Walker tallied 13 points, and both Christian Salinas and Matthew Turner added 10 points to the cause.

Lady Rams Open SSAC Play With Win

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team opened up SSAC West Division play with a 79-76 home-victory over William Carey University Thursday evening at Pharr Gym. Mobile improves to 10-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play, sporting an 8-0 mark at home this season. The Lady Rams visit Belhaven University Saturday at 5 pm in Jackson, Miss. Alice Honnery finished the game with 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists, while Morgan Melancon added 15 points and 6 assists to pace the Mobile offense.

Mobile Men Fall 96-80 At Life University

MARIETTA, Ga-- The Life University Running Eagles topped the University of Mobile 96-80 in NAIA men's basketball action Saturday evening. Mobile (7-5) will open up SSAC West Division play Thursday, Jan. 13 at 7:30 pm when William Carey University visits Pharr Gym. The Rams turned the ball over 24 times and shot only 38% from the floor, including a 1-of-10 effort from 3-point range. Life, on the other hand, shot 48% from the floor and went 7-of-19 from deep. That shooting discrepancy offset Mobile's 54-29 rebounding edge in the game.
