Mobile Men Fall 96-80 At Life University

MARIETTA, Ga-- The Life University Running Eagles topped the University of Mobile 96-80 in NAIA men's basketball action Saturday evening. Mobile (7-5) will open up SSAC West Division play Thursday, Jan. 13 at 7:30 pm when William Carey University visits Pharr Gym. The Rams turned the ball over 24 times and shot only 38% from the floor, including a 1-of-10 effort from 3-point range. Life, on the other hand, shot 48% from the floor and went 7-of-19 from deep. That shooting discrepancy offset Mobile's 54-29 rebounding edge in the game.

Lady Rams Rally Past West Florida

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team used the 3-pointer to defeat NCAA-II University of West Florida 68-65 Saturday evening at Pharr Gym. Mobile (9-3) will begin SSAC West Division play Thursday, Jan. 13 at 5:30 pm when they host William Carey University. West Florida falls to 7-7 on the season. Adrienne Mackay led Mobile with 17 points, Morgan Melancon added 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting from 3-point range, Anna Maddox chipped in 12 points off the bench and Alice Honnery added 5 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 blocks.

Poor First Half Dooms Rams Against Tougaloo

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team fell 49-66 at home to Tougaloo College Tuesday evening at Pharr Gym. Mobile (7-4) will visit Life University Saturday, Jan. 8 at 7:30 pm EST in a non-conference game. Donte Walker tallied 18 points for Mobile, but nobody else scored more than 7 for the Rams, who shot only 34% from the floor. Mobile hit only 2-of-14 from 3-point range.

Lady Rams Rally; Honnery Climbs Career Ranks

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team defeated visiting Tougaloo College 64-58 Tuesday evening after a 25-day layoff. In the game, Alice Honnery finished with 12 points, 14 rebounds and 7 blocks to give her 189 career blocks in just a season and a half to become the Lady Rams' all-time career blocks leader. Edmarie Lumbsley held down the top spot after totaling 188 blocks from 2000-02. Alyssa Lane added 14 points and 7 boards for Mobile and Adrienne Mackay chipped in 11 points.

Rams Recognized For Fall Success

CLEVELAND – The University of Mobile is ranked 15th in the final fall NAIA Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings. Mobile received 53 points for a ninth place finish in women's soccer and 83 points for a third place finish in men's soccer. Azusa Pacific (Calif.) extended its lead, earning 25 points following a ninth place finish in football, bringing their point total to 301 points.

Jags Top Rams In Exhibition Play

MOBILE, Ala--The University of South Alabama men’s basketball team held Mobile to a season-low 48 points and the Jaguars had four players in double-digit scoring to defeat the Rams 90-48 Monday evening at the Mitchell Center. USA wins for the fourth straight game to improve to 6-5. The game was an exhibition for Mobile, a member of NAIA Division I, who remains at 7-3.

Lady Jags Top Mobile Women In Exhibition Action

MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama women’s basketball team tied an arena record with 14 three-pointers Wednesday evening as they coasted to a 93-54 victory over Mobile at the Mitchell Center. The game was an exhibition contest for Mobile (7-3), who will host Tougaloo College Tuesday, Jan. 4 at 5:30 pm. Playing with only nine players dressed out for the game due to injury, South Alabama placed four players in double figures led by Sarda Peterson’s career-high 25 points.

Mobile Women Blast Lady Hornets By 49

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team used a dominant 1st-half to cruise past visiting Concordia College-Selma 79-30 in non-conference action Friday evening at Pharr Gym. Mobile (7-3) visits University of South Alabama Wednesday, Dec. 15 at 7 pm for an exhibition contest. Adrienne Mackay led the Lady Rams with 18 points, Alice Honnery added 14 points, 13 rebounds and 8 blocks, and both Morgan Melancon and Anna Maddox chipped in 11 points apiece for Mobile.

Rams Beat Concordia-Selma 88-72

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team defeated visiting Concordia College-Selma 88-72 Friday evening at Pharr Gym. Mobile (7-3) will next play Dec. 27 at 7 pm at University of South Alabama in an exhibition contest. Brock Dockery led the Rams with 22 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 4-of-6 from 3-point range, Ji Kimbrough added 20 points and Donte Walker finished with 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting.
