Trio Of Mobile Men Named 1st-Team All-Americans

KANSAS CITY, Mo-- The University of Mobile's Chris Dillon, Stephen Okai and Deshorn Brown were named 1st-Team NAIA Men's Soccer All-American, as announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Monday. There are three teams, in addition to an honorable mention list. Eleven players were named to the First Team, with Mobile the only squad to have three student-athletes honored as 1st-Team selections.

Trio Of Lady Rams Earn Women's Soccer All-American Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo-- Three University of Mobile women's soccer players were named NAIA All-Americans, as announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Monday. Anna Maddox, a senior defender from Auburn, Ala., was tabbed as a 2nd-Team selection, Christy Lachappelle, a sophomore forward from San Antonio, Texas, was named 3rd-Team All-American, and Missy Stovall, a sophomore forward from San Antonio earned Honorable Mention All-American honors.

Rams Named To 2010 NAIA Men's Soccer All-Tournament Team

ORANGE BEACH, Ala-- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released the 2010 NAIA Men's Soccer All-Tournament Team, and several Rams were honored. Defender Chris Dillon, midfielder Ruben Diaz and forward Deshorn Brown made the list from UMobile. The University of Mobile men (17-4-2) co-hosted the 2010 NAIA National Championship along with the Alabama Gulf Coast Sports Commission and advanced to the Semifinals for the 7th time in school history. Mobile ended the season with a 1-0 loss to Notre Dame College.

Lady Rams Blast Previously-Unbeaten Bernau

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team blasted visiting Brenau University 72-49 at Pharr Gym Saturday afternoon. Mobile (6-3) hosts Concordia University-Selma Friday, Dec. 10 at 5:30 pm, while the loss is the first of the year for Brenau (7-1). Alyssa Lane led the Lady Rams with 16 points on 7-of-7 shooting, while Adrienne Mackay added 15 points and 7 boards and Morgan Crawford finished with 11 points. Morgan Melancon led the Lady Rams with 6 assists.

UMobile Men Win By 10 At Home

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team defeated visiting Brewton-Parker College 79-69 in non-conference action Friday evening at Pharr Gym. Mobile (6-3) hosts Concordia College-Selma Dec. 10 at 7:30 pm. Four players scored in double figures for the Rams, led by Spencer Duke's 16-point effort. Donte Walker and Brock Dockery each added 15 points for Mobile, while Ji Kimbrough finished with 11 points.

Lady Rams Beat Brewton-Parker By Ten

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team rallied past Brewton-Parker 86-76 in NAIA action Friday evening at Pharr Gym. Mobile (5-3) hosts Brenau University Saturday, Dec. 4 at 2 pm. Adrienne Mackay led Mobile with 22 points and 10 rebounds, while Alice Honnery added 10 points, 17 rebounds, 6 blocks and 4 steals.

Rams' Run Ends In Semifinals Of NAIA Men's Soccer Nationals

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - Notre Dame junior Luke Holmes was the difference as the fourth-seeded Falcons eliminate No. 9 Mobile (Ala.), 1-0 in the first Semifinal of the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship final site from the Orange Beach Sportsplex. He scored an unassisted goal in the 59th minute for the game-winner. The Falcons win in their first-ever Semifinal appearance and will next play on Saturday at 7 p.m. CST. The Championship finals opponent will be the winner of the second Semifinal between No. 3 Hastings (Neb.) and No. 7 William Jewell (Mo.).

Women's Soccer Players Earn Academic Honors

MOBILE, Ala-- Anna Maddox and Ashley Lachappelle were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes, as announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. There were 446 women's soccer student-athletes honored in all. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

UMobile Volleyball Players Named Scholar-Athletes

MOBILE, Ala-- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced that the University of Mobile's Shea McBee and Alyson Kovacs were two of 387 volleyball players to be named 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Volleyball Scholar-Athletes Friday. Kovacs is a senior right-side from Sanford, Fla., and McBee is a senior middle blocker from Birmingham, Ala.

Mobile Men Move On To NAIA Semifinals (Friday @ 4)

ORANGE BEACH, Ala-- The 9th-seeded University of Mobile men's soccer team advanced to the Semifinals of the 2010 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championships by knocking off 2008 National Champion Bethel University (Tenn.) 3-2 Wednesday at the Orange Beach Sportsplex. The Rams (17-3-2) will battle No. 4 seed Notre Dame (Ohio) Friday at 4 pm. The Falcons sport an unblemished 22-0 record. Armando Orozco put the Wildcats of Bethel on the board first with a goal in the 14th minute, when he found a clearing in the box and punched it into the net.
