Rams Win 77-59 In Road Action

NEW ORLEANS, La-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team hit the road Tuesday and took down non-conference foe SUNO 77-59. The Rams (2-1) will return home to host Texas College Thursday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 pm. SUNO falls to 0-1 on the season. Mobile dominated from the beginning, building a 49-27 lead at the half, and leading by as much as 25 in the game. Mobile out rebounded the Knights 49-34.

No. 23 West Florida Tops Mobile 3-0

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile volleyball team fell 0-3 (25-27, 14-25, 20-25) to 23rd-ranked NCAA-II University of West Florida to close out the regular season Monday. Mobile (15-15) will head into the SSAC Tournament Nov. 12-13 at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Gulfport, Miss., as the #3 seed from the West Division and face 2nd-seed Shorter University Friday at 5:45 pm in the opening round.

14th-Ranked Mobile Women Roll Past SWU In SSAC Tourney

MOBILE, Ala-- The 14th-ranked University of Mobile women's soccer bounced visiting Southern Wesleyan University 2-0 in SSAC Tournament action Saturday evening. Mobile (11-5-1, 4-1) advances to the SSAC Semifinals Thursday, Nov. 11 in Gulfport, Miss., with opponent and time to be announced. Kassie Ruff tallied the game-winner for the Lady Rams with an unassisted goal in the 21st minute.

Mobile Men Pick Up Season's First Win

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team improved to 1-1 on the season with a 73-65 home victory over Voorhees College Saturday afternoon. Mobile (1-1) visits Southern University at New Orleans Nov. 9 at 7:30. Donte Walker led the Rams with 21 points and 5 steals, while shooting 7-of-17 from the floor.

Ram Runners Finish 8th At SSAC Meet

GULFPORT, Miss-- The University of Mobile men's cross country team finished in 8th place at the 2010 SSAC Championships. Mobile turned in a team time of 2:37:02.20 and 181 points, while Shorter University clocked in at 2:07:20 with 15 points to win the meet. Ryne Pulliam led the Rams with a 35th-place finish and a time of 30:01.31.

Lady Rams Win Non-Conference Game By 55

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's basketball team trounced Selma University 86-31 in non-conference action Saturday at Pharr Gym. Mobile (3-0) will next play Tuesday, Nov. 16 at Alabama State in exhibition action at 6 pm. The Lady Rams dominated in all areas and got double-digit scoring efforts from five players.

UMobile Women Run At SSAC Championships

GULFPORT, Miss-- The University of Mobile women's cross country team finished the 2010 season with a 9th-place finish at the 2010 SSAC Championships Saturday morning. Mobile turned in a total time of 2:05:06 for 221 points, while Lee University won with a time of 1:35:05 and 32 points. Joanna Canning paced the Lady Ram runners with a 41st place finish after clocking in at 22:20.83 in the 5K run.

Lady Rams Hold Off RedHawks 84-76; Allison Michael Sets Record

MOBILE, Ala-- Allison Michael's record-breaking night helped the University of Mobile women's basketball team overcome a poor showing from the free throw line to defeat Martin Methodist College 84-76 on the opening day of the University of Mobile Port City Tip-Off Classic. Mobile will wrap up play in the tournament Saturday at 5 pm by hosting Selma University. Michael scored 28 points, hitting 7-of-11 from 3-point range to set the school's single-game record of 3-pointers made. The old record was five, held by several players.

Rams Fall By 12 At NCAA-I Nicholls State

THIBODAUX, La-- The University of Mobile men's basketball team visited NCAA-I Nicholls State in exhibition action Thursday evening and fell 60-72. Brock Dockery led four Rams in double-figures with a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double. He hit 4-of-6 from 3-point range. Ji Kimbrough hit 8-of-8 free throws and added 15 points, Donte Walker chipped in 11 points and Matthew Turner finished with 10 points and 6 rebounds.
