University of Mobile's Project Serve Impacts Community

In celebration of the University of Mobile’s 50^th anniversary, the university cancelled classes for a day to engage in “Project Serve.” On September 16, 2011, more than 1,100 UMobile faculty, staff, alumni and students began a day of service by gathering in front of Weaver Hall for a rally.

Center for Performing Arts Presents 'Russian Masters' Piano Recital

The University of Mobile Center for Performing Arts will present "Russian Masters," a recital featuring pianist Daniel Driskell Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. in Moorer Auditorium on the university campus.

Alumni Family Day Set for Saturday, Sept. 24

The University of Mobile will host Alumni Family Day on Saturday, Sept. 24. The event is open to all alumni and their families. Family Day will begin with the Alumni Brunch at 10:30 a.m. in Ram Hall on the university campus. Tickets to the brunch are $10 and RSVP is due by Sept. 19.

Enrollment Continues to Rise at University of Mobile

The University of Mobile announced an increase in enrollment for fall semester 2011, with 1,798 students. University of Mobile President Dr. Mark Foley said relevant and challenging academic programs that integrate faith, learning and leadership are attracting students to the Christian campus. He also attributed the increase to an active campus life that includes opportunities for students to use their knowledge and talents in service to others locally and abroad.

In celebration of the University of Mobile’s 50th anniversary year, the university will cancel classes Friday, Sept. 16 for “University of Mobile Project Serve,” a life lesson in community service that impacts the lives of people along the Gulf Coast.
More than a thousand students, faculty, staff, alumni and trustees will spread out in teams throughout Mobile and Baldwin counties to volunteer a day of service to the community.

New Class Includes Trip to Paris

A new course at the University of Mobile, “Walking through Paris: Aspects of France’s Cultural History,” includes the option of a trip to Paris with UMobile French instructor Barbara Brousseau. The course emphasizes French language and communication skills.
