Free tickets are now available for William Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice” presented by students in the University of Mobile English Department. Performances are on campus Nov. 1-3 at 6:30 p.m. and Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. The public is invited and tickets will be used for reservation of the limited seating.

Free tickets are now available for the 10th annual Christmas Spectacular presented by the University of Mobile. Christmas Spectacular will be performed at Dauphin Way Baptist Church on Dauphin Street in Mobile on Friday, Nov. 30 through Sunday, Dec. 2 at 6:45 p.m. A ticketed dress rehearsal is also scheduled for Thursday, Nov 29 at 6:45 p.m.

The University of Mobile Honors Program will host a free lecture on “Election Rumors – 63 BC” on Oct. 18 at 7 pm. The lecture will analyze the Roman consular election of 63 B.C. and compare it to the upcoming 2012 presidential election.

Morgan Menkedick, a freshman from Greensburgh, Ind., has come a long way from home and had problems adjusting to living away from her parents. One thing that helped her get through this situation was her Peer Leader at the University of Mobile.

The University of Mobile has been named in “America’s 100 Best College Buys” for the fourth consecutive year by Institutional Research & Evaluation Inc. The University of Mobile is one of only four colleges in Alabama to receive the 2012-2013 designation and the only private university.
