University of Mobile art students are displaying their work in an exhibit on the university campus. The exhibit is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through May 11 in the university’s Martin Hall Gallery

Students in the Introduction to Geology lab at the University of Mobile got to try their hands at being “museum curators,“ exploring the contents of several donations to the school.

Travis Massey Bedsole Jr., bankruptcy administrator for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court Southern District of Alabama, presented a lecture at the University of Mobile titled, “Financial Management: An Insider’s View” in recognition of Financial Literacy Month.

Bruce and Darla Earnest have an intimate knowledge of musical theater and what it takes to make a living in the footlights.  The couple also share a profound faith and a belief that theater training can offer lessons that stay with students long after they leave the stage.

April 17th would normally be an off day for cross country coaches, but it will be a big day for University of Mobile alumnus and men's and women's cross country coach Alastair Stevenson. Stevenson will run in the London Marathon, which is a 26.2 mile run through the streets of London and finishes outside Buckingham Palace.

Nine University of Mobile honors students are preparing to embark on a week-long field experience in the midwestern United States with associate professor of biology and veteran stormchaser Steve Carey. The students will be seeking tornados, supercells and severe weather patterns in an upcoming field experience that is the culmination of a semester course on severe weather phenomena.

The University of Mobile Upper Room Theatre will present “The Music Man” April 15-17 at Saraland High School Performing Arts Center. The University of Mobile Center for Performing Arts will present a Guitar Ensemble recital at 7 p.m. on April 25 in Moorer Auditorium on the University of Mobile campus.

Speak Up, a public affairs television show on WALA and WFNA, will spotlight the University of Mobile Center for Leadership and the Twelve23 Movement. Speak Up will air four times: on WALA on Saturdays at 11 a.m. on April 16 and April 30; and on sister station WFNA on Sundays at noon, April 17 and May 1.

University of Mobile head baseball coach Mike Jacobs was presented a plaque in the shape of a home plate in recognition of his 700th career win at the university.
