History Prof Dr. Lonnie Burnett Featured on Civil War Panel

Dr. Lonnie Burnett, professor of history and chair of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department at the University of Mobile, will participate on a panel discussion about the American Civil War at the Alabama Department of Archives and History in Montgomery.

The program, "Making Sense of the American Civil War," will feature six historians selected from around the state in a forum-style discussion. The gathering is the kick-off to a statewide Civil War reading and discussion series sponsored by the Alabama Humanities Foundation in conjunction with the national Civil War sesquicentennial.

The event is scheduled for Feb. 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in the main auditorium at the State Archives Building in Montgomery, AL.
