UMobile Regent's Book Released by Major Publisher

WND Books is publishing a book by University of Mobile Regent Carl Gallups titled “The Magic Man in The Sky: Effectively Defending The Christian Faith.”

Gallups has served as senior pastor of Hickory Hammock Baptist Church in Milton, Fla., since 1987, and is a member of the UMobile Board of Regents. He has been featured as a UMobile chapel speaker, and Hickory Hammock Baptist Church has established a University of Mobile Endowed Scholarship which provides scholarships to university students.

Gallups holds a master of divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is also a 10-year talk radio host heard on 1330 WEBY AM, Northwest Florida’s Talk Radio. Gallups is one of the founders and a major contributor of video teaching material on the YouTube site PPSIMMONS. More than 22 million people have viewed his videos on this site. Additionally, Gallups is heard from coast-to-coast and in over 300 talk-radio markets around the nation, on almost a weekly basis, fulfilling another role as a guest biblical and political commentator.

Carl Gallups said, “’The Magic Man In The Sky’ has already been an amazing journey, and it is just now beginning! The book hit the No. 2 spot on Amazon’s new releases for Religion within the first week of release. I wrote the book to help combat the ever-growing and sweeping secular philosophy that today’s Christians are continually up against.”

UMobile President Dr. Mark Foley wrote an endorsement for Gallups’ book, which will appear in all Ebook and Kindle editions as well as the cover of subsequent printings of the hardcover edition.

"Few authors articulate the intellectual condition of the church as clearly and effectively as does Carl Gallups in his new book, ‘The Magic Man in the Sky.’ Compelling story telling, careful construction of thought, and solid theological foundations provide one of the best defenses of a biblical worldview currently available. I solidly endorse Gallups' work," Foley wrote.

Dr. Fred Lackey, UMobile assistant to the president, wrote the foreword.

"In this hour of all-but-universal darkness, a bright ray of hope and confidence shines forth from the truths of this book. In a time when lives are marked by a growing hunger for spiritual realities, a hunger that cannot be satisfied with unanswered questions ignored and evaded by evolutionists, Carl Gallups, with remarkable ability and profound truths from Scripture, reveals the truth that real science and Holy Scripture are inseparably linked," Lackey said.

Gallups said he chose WND Books “because of their stellar Christian reputation and their unbelievable world-outreach capabilities. They have a number of New York Times No. 1 bestsellers in their stable.”

He added, “I pray this book will be used to advance the Kingdom of Jesus Christ around the world. I am also praying that many of God’s people will feel better equipped and emboldened to speak up for the Biblical faith after having read my book.”

The book can be ordered on Amazon.com, in the hardcover and electronic editions. For more information, visit Magic Man in the Sky on YouTube and Facebook.
