University of Mobile School of Worship Leadership presents the Upper Room Theater featuring three productions at the Saraland Center for Performing Arts. Tickets are on sale now.
Season tickets are $65 and include a reception before the show. Single performance tickets are $22. Discount tickets for groups of eight or more are $45.
The first performance is “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” Nov. 8-11, directed by Keone Fuqua, assistant professor of performing arts/production manager. It is a musical full of romance and comedy. The play takes place in 1850s Oregon, where six brothers kidnap six women from the neighboring town to marry.
Next is “Godspell” Feb. 28- March 3, directed by Bruce Earnest, assistant dean of CPA/ School of Music. This musical reflects the life of Jesus, including hit songs “Day by Day,” “Prepare Ye the Day of the Lord,” and “By My Side.”
The final performance is “Pirates of Penzance” April18- 21, directed by Dr. Patrick Jacobs, associate professor of music. This comic opera is about a young man who serves an apprenticeship to a band of pirates until his 21st birthday. He was born on Feb. 29 so his birthday is every leap year. He falls in love with Mabel, but cannot marry her until he turns 21.
