Academic Awards Presented at 2014 Honors Convocation

The University of Mobile presented academic awards to outstanding graduates of the Class of 2014 during Honors Convocation May 9 in Ram Hall on campus.

The university’s two top student awards, the William K. Weaver Jr. Excellence Award and the Annie Boyd Parker Weaver Excellence Award, will be announced during graduation ceremonies May 10 at the Mobile Civic Center. Approximately 330 students will receive master’s, bachelor’s and associate’s degrees during the Christian university’s 48th commencement ceremony, which will begin at 10 a.m.

The Honors Convocation concluded with a brunch for all graduating students. Awards presented included the President’s Scholastic Award for undergraduates earning perfect 4.0 grade point averages, and academic achievement awards as the outstanding graduate in each college and school.

Honorees, their awards and degrees are:

Holly Lanee Dunnam of Mobile, AL – President’s Scholastic Award, School of Education Undergraduate Academic Achievement Award, Bachelor of Science in elementary education, Bachelor of Science in early childhood education, summa cum laude

Marc Pierre Dupont of Lucedale, MS – President’s Scholastic Award, Bachelor of Science in business administration, area award in managerial entrepreneurship, summa cum laude

Jessica Lynn Gunn of Gulf Shores, AL – President’s Scholastic Award, Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Lauren Suzanne Kirkland of Brewton, AL – President’s Scholastic Award, School of Music Academic Achievement Award, Bachelor of Science in music, summa cum laude

Sarah Dawn Liska of Mobile, AL – President’s Scholastic Award, Center for Adult Programs Academic Achievement Award, Bachelor of Science in Nursing
