This is the fifth straight year that the Mobile Rock and Gem Society has made a donation to the university. In recent years, members of the Mobile Rock and Gem Society have assisted in the ongoing renovation of the Albert S. Dix Outdoor Rock and Mineral Museum and other related activities. This year, some of the money received from the Mobile Rock and Gem Society helped support students participate in a week-long field trip to study severe weather on the Great Plains and investigate the geology of the region.
