MUTEMATH to Kick Off Ram Rush 2011 at Aug. 20 Concert

The University of Mobile is proud to present alt-rock band MUTEMATH in concert at historic Saenger Theatre in downtown Mobile, Ala., on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m.

Formed in 2003, MUTEMATH (Paul Meany, Darren King and Roy Mitchell-Cardenas) has established a nationwide following. They have toured all over the United States and made appearances on "The Late Show with David Letterman," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien.” Their show is a mix of eclectic and energetic stage antics coupled with technical, yet infectious musical prowess.

MUTEMATH has released two albums "Mutemath" (2006), "Armistice" (2009) and a third is expected to release in September of this year. Recent tour dates include The Armistice Tour (2009), Austin City Limits Festival (2009), Into the Wild with 30 Seconds to Mars (2010) and Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago (2010).

The nationally recognized act from New Orleans made its first appearance at UMobile on the 2005 "Collision" tour as a support act for the David Crowder Band. MUTEMATH will return as the headline act during the university's new student orientation festivities known as "Ram Rush." The concert is also open to the general public.

Tickets are on sale to the general public beginning Friday, June 24 at 10 a.m. General public tickets are $15 in advance and $20 day of show (plus service charges) and are available at or the Saenger Theatre box office (

Currently enrolled UMobile students may receive one free ticket with a student ID number by reserving their ticket online at beginning June 24 until all 500 reserved tickets are gone. Reserved student tickets may be picked up at the UMobile Campus Life front desk from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19. All tickets not claimed by 4:30 p.m. will be made available to the public for sale.
