The University of Mobile Center for Performing Arts will present pianist Daniel Driskell in recital Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. in Moorer Auditorium on the university campus.
Driskell’s recital is entitled “Russian Masters” and will feature piano music from Russian composers of the Romantic period from the 20th century forward. The program will include classics from Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Kabalevsky and Balakirev, as well as the work of Sofia Gubaidulina. Driskell teaches in applied music at the University of South Alabama.

Driskell earned his bachelor’s degree in music from the University of South Alabama and his master’s degree in piano pedagogy and performance at Florida State University.
In addition to his classical studies, he has performed in a variety of styles including: theatre, jazz, gospel, and praise and worship. Driskell is currently teaching at the University of South Alabama, Government Street Baptist, Christ United Methodist, and St. Paul’s Episcopal School.
