The ACM is an international computing organization seeking to advance computing as a science and a profession. The local student chapter of the ACM at UM not only provides a connection to the international organization but also has a project lab for students, holds social events, provides services for other UM students such as tutoring and some tech support, participates in local professional networking activities, and invites speakers from industry to speak with UM students. ACM members will use the project lab to prepare to participate in regional and national ACM conferences and work on projects for the club and university. The ACM also provides leadership opportunities for students interested in pursuing computing related extra-curricular activities.

For more information about the ACM Project Lab or joining the ACM, contact Wesley Summers, student President of the ACM or Mr. Leo Denton, the ACM’s faculty advisor and Acting Chair of the Computer Information Systems department.

ACM meetings are generally held monthly on Wednesdays at 11:00 A.M. Sandwiches and refreshments are generally served during the meetings.
