The School of Business is committed to program excellence and follows a fully developed outcomes assessment plan that calls for conducting assessment activities on a regular basis. The data are analyzed and presented to the School of Business faculty for the purpose of establishing policies that will lead to improvements.
In addition to an overall plan for the undergraduate program, each department in the School of Business follows its own individualized assessment plan. The faculty of the School of Business has developed six objectives for the undergraduate program:
Objectives – Undergraduate Program
- to provide students with professional business competency
- to graduate students who can think critically
- to graduate students who can communicate effectively
- to produce graduates who are computer literate
- to produce graduates who are prepared for employment
- to produce graduates who are equipped to apply Christian values to ethical dilemmas in business
In order to determine if these objectives are met, the assessment plan sets forth the various measurement tools to be utilized, the frequency of measurement, and the desired outcomes. Actual outcomes are compared to desired outcomes to determine areas needing improvement. Action is then taken to ensure that improvements are made.
Feedback is derived from a variety of sources, both internal and external, including student self-reported data, alumni surveys, employer surveys, internship supervisor evaluations, internally-generated pre- and post-tests of business knowledge, graduating senior exit surveys, job placement rates, and nationally-normed tests of business knowledge and critical thinking skills.
