Master of Arts in Religious Studies
More options

The School of Christian Studies offers a Master of Arts degree in the fields of:

  • Biblical/Theological Studies
  • Marriage and Family Counseling

The Master of Arts in Religion Studies program at the University of Mobile provides you with:

  • a quality education that will help you excel in your career
  • the opportunity to learn from faculty who are experts in their field
  • a small seminar-style classroom experience where you will receive personal attention from your professors
  • convenient classes on weeknights for those who are currently employed during the day

Biblical/Theological Studies:
If you plan to pursue a Ph.D. or enter the mission field, the Master of Arts in Biblical/Theological Studies offers the opportunity to earn a Master’s Degree in a shorter time frame than that required by a traditional Master of Divinity program. The Biblical/Theological course of study consists of academic study of biblical and theological subjects. If you have decided to postpone seminary study for a time, this program offers the opportunity to earn some hours that may transfer into a M.Div. program.

Marriage and Family Counseling
This course of study emphasizes family systems counseling. While this degree is useful for marriage counseling, it is not just for those who wish to counsel people with troubled marriages. Graduates of this degree program work in a variety of places. Examples of this include drug and alcohol abuse rehabilitation centers, battered women shelters, pregnancy crisis centers, hospital psychiatric wards, private practice settings, mental health agencies, universities, and churches.
