SCHOOL OF CHRISTIAN STUDIES

The School of Christian Studies offers a Master of Arts degree in the fields of Biblical/Theological studies and of Marriage and Family Counseling.

If you plan to pursue a Ph.D. or enter the mission field, the Master of Arts in Biblical/Theological studies offers the opportunity to earn a Master’s Degree in a shorter time frame than that required by a traditional Master of Divinity program. The Biblical/Theological course of study consists of academic study of biblical and theological subjects. Also, if you have decided to postpone seminary study for a time, this program offers the opportunity to earn some hours that might transfer into an M.Div. program.

The Marriage and Family Counseling course of study emphasizes family systems counseling. It is not just a degree for counselors who want to deal with troubled marriages, although it is useful for marriage counseling. Graduates of this degree program work in a number of places, for example, drug and alcohol abuse rehabilitation centers, battered women shelters, pregnancy crisis centers, hospital psychiatric wards, private practice settings, mental health agencies, universities, and churches.
