Natural
Sciences
Faculty members in the Department of Natural Sciences endeavor to develop
in their students the qualities of responsibility, critical thinking,
academic and professional competence, and high moral and ethical standards. Additionally,
through the science curriculum, students will gain an appreciation for living
organisms, the environment, and the basic processes of biology, physics,
and chemistry. The faculty further seeks to establish and maintain quality
undergraduate programs in the sciences consistent with a liberal arts experience
in a Christian environment.
Mathematics
Mathematics covers a broad spectrum
and is a language which is needed to converse fluently, to
express relationships, to make comparisons, to quote statistics, and
to reach conclusions. The goal of the mathematics faculty is to educate
and develop individuals who appreciate the beauty of mathematics, who
think in a logical fashion, who can solve problems, and who can
converse fluently using the language of mathematics.
