Mission and Philosophy

As an integral part of the University of Mobile, the School of Nursing faculty is dedicated to the advancement of nursing based upon Christian values.  It is anticipated that the graduate will find maximum understanding of the reality of God and the Christian way of life while pursuing self-fulfillment and rendering service to others.

The nursing faculty strives to meet the mission and goals of the University by offering a course of study that includes theories and concepts from the humanities and fine arts, natural sciences, social sciences, and nursing.  Each student is encouraged to develop critical thinking skills based upon a scientific and theoretical base to support nursing decisions.  The primary emphasis of the faculty is the individual – the individual student and the specific needs and interests of that person and the individual patient and efforts to meet the needs of that person or the involved family.
