  1. Early Decision Program for High School Students

The Nursing Early Decision Program for High School Students will allow qualified applicants to be accepted into the clinical nursing major at the time of acceptance to the University of Mobile. If accepted into the program, a student is guaranteed a space in the clinical nursing major upon successful completion of prerequisite requirements specified by the School of Nursing.

In addition to admission requirements for the University of Mobile, requirements for the Nursing Early Decision Program include:

  • ACT score of 23

  • Cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

  • Positive letters of recommendation by two high school officials

  • Completion of application for clinical nursing


Progression Requirements for continuing in the Nursing Early Decision Program:

  • Earn a “C” or better in all required prerequisite courses (BIO 201, 202, 301; MA 107 or 110 or 111; NU 252, PSY 301, and PSY 315 or equivalent) for the clinical nursing major

  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0


  1. ADN to BSN (RN to BSN)

Students applying to or enrolled in an associate degree program may apply to the RN-BSN program at the University of Mobile. Students accepted into the program are guaranteed a seat in the program provided they meet the admission criteria stated in the RN-BSN program in the University of Mobile Catalog.


  1. Articulation Agreement with Four Year Institutions (2 + 2 program)

Students may apply to the University of Mobile School of Nursing BSN program at the same time they apply to a college through the University of Mobile’s articulation agreement. If accepted into the program, students will be guaranteed entrance into the clinical nursing major at the University of Mobile. Students are encouraged to following the program plan outlined in the articulation agreement between UM and the 4-year college.

Applicants not accepted into one of the Early Admission Options may apply to the BSN nursing clinical major between November 1 and April 1 of the year prior to anticipated readiness for nursing as outlined under BSN admission requirements in the University of Mobile catalog.
